I am getting close to finishing a double challenge in French. I am currently at 199 films and 188 books (or
about 16 pages/day). Barring anything unforeseen, I expect to finish just under the wire. I am most proud of
my consistency in doing something every week for this challenge, as I have posted for the Super Cahllenge
for 82 consecutive weeks. Congrats to all those who have already finished!
PS I have really enjoyed this challenge and have definitely seen improvements as a result.

I haven't been working on the super challenge for ages, but now that I recently moved to
Berlin I got access to German netflix so I can watch movies dubbed I got into the spirit
again. So I will do my best this last month, and we'll see if it's enough to finish the half
challenge (50/50) in German. So far I'm only at 20 films and 15 books though. But every extra
book/film is a win ;)

I hadn't updated in months, but I log everything I read on goodreads anyway, so after
getting current, I'm 300 pages shy of a full challenge in Spanish and 175 pages short of
my half-challenge in French. I've got a little over 300 pages left in 2666, and reading
an 1100 page book is a nice capstone for the Super Challenge.
The best thing about doing the full challenge in Spanish is that it pushed me to explore
new authors and countries and get more familiar with regionalisms and idioms, especially
within Mexico and Chile. Mexico has lots of words that don't get used elsewhere, while I
find that Chilean words often don't mean the same thing in Argentina and Bolivia, not to
mention the rest of the world, so I got to used to scrolling in the RAE dictionary for
alternate definitions.

Hi All!
So we're coming up to the end of the 2014-2015 challenge, having read a combined
379,986 pages and watched 1,440,764 minutes of foreign language material since we
started!
I've been pretty quiet on the forums for a while, ironically because I moved to a new
country and have been busy juggling language learning with work. This means however
that I haven't been able to put the time into maintaining the Twitter Bot that it
really deserves. Unfortunately this isn't going to change soon, and with the next
round of the super challenge hopefully looming next year, I'm now looking at the
future of the bot.
So this is an appeal to the language learning programmers out there:
Is there anyone who would like to take over running the twitter bot?
On the technical side it's PHP/SQL, and should run on pretty much any server. I'm
happy to do a complete handover, or to turn it into an open source project somewhere.
If there's any interest we can start talking about details. (For everyone else, don't
fret! The bot isn't going to disappear overnight. Nothing's going to change in the
remaining 3 weeks left for the challenge. I'm just starting this conversation now
because it might take a while to organise everything.)

Dear all,
I hope someone with the technical know-how is able to take over. Unfortunately I am the most untechnical
person to walk the surface of the earth, so it will not be me, but I know there are many other skilled persons
out there.
Also: Surrealix: You are at least 50% of the reason why this challenge took off, and I cannot thank you
enough. What you did is nothing short of amazing.
And everyone else: The clock is ticking. :-) You have 13 days left to finish this challenge, before the year is
over, and then you have 4 months to enjoy other challenges before we start a new Super Challenge on May
1st 2016.
Make the rest of the year count!!!

How is everyone doing?
Early in the month I thought of giving up on the Belarusian challenge, but then I realized I could complete it with 1 movie per day and some time to spare. Now I'm a bit behind again though (15 movies left), but starting from next week there's very little football on, for obvious reasons.
It also looks like Finnish and Ukrainian might be the only languages in which I don't earn a star :D
Yesterday I finished reading what was probably my best book of the year, The Old Man and the Sea.
