But the following excerpt is not written in a Romance language:

On a small island in the middle of the border stream Wiidоu lies the old inn right in the nomansland

To me it sounds something between Low German (niimеn), Danish (krouf, gräns) and English (ailönj, üülje).
Jysk?

Nope, but you are getting close. In Synnejysk it would look like this:

Å æ’n lille ø i æ grænseå Vidå liche æ gammel kro midt i æ ingenmandsland

Yes, it's clearly Germanic. Looks like a mix between English and Dutch. Maybe Frisian?

Iversen, when replying to Quique, perhaps you missed my guess (above). I don't mind being wrong, I just don't want other people not trying "Frisian" because they think you already dismissed it.

My apologies to Luso - I just saw Quique's answer and overlooked that you already had given the correct solution in your message at the bottom of the preceding page. And yes - the language is Northern Frisian.

What's the next challenge?

No problem at all.

Since it's up to me, and given that I don't know all that much about less known languages, I searched a bit about one of my favourites:

Nencióin súbatu siansa saul e nencióina troka siansa amáur.
A Saturday without sun is like a girl without love.

It is not Portuguese. Maybe you'll want to:

a) guess again my phrase;

b) replace "Britanii" by "Brytanii" in yours. ;)

P.S.: I believe that, according to the rules of this game, you only get to ask a question after you've successfully answered the previous one. If you're sure you're right, you get to do it in the same post, of course.
