Interesting in a good way. It's a big refresher from every accent I've heard before. Thanks for the compliments. How's that for 23 months of study?

I finally got a chance to listen to this excellent video. Bravo! Do you have formal voice training?--that really sounded good...
Also, do you have a transcript of the German version? I am not familar with it in German.

Thanks! And no, I haven't had any formal training, only choir practices. :)
I got the German lyrics from wikipedia. Here's the transcript of the section I sang:
" Nehmt Abschied, Brüder, ungewiss
ist alle Wiederkehr,
die Zukunft liegt in Finsternis
und macht das Herz uns schwer.
Der Himmel wölbt sich übers Land,
Ade, auf Wiederseh'n!
Wir ruhen all in Gottes Hand,
Lebt wohl, auf Wiederseh'n. "

For completion of the songtext, let me add the missing three verses:
2.
Die Sonne sinkt, es steigt die Nacht.
Vergangen ist der Tag.
Die Welt schläft ein und leis' erwacht
der Nachtigallenschlag.
3.
So ist's in jedem Anbeginn
das Ende nicht mehr weit.
Wir kommen her und gehen hin
und mit uns geht die Zeit.
4.
Nehmt Abschied, Brüder, schließt den Kreis.
Das Leben ist ein Spiel.
Und wer es recht zu spielen weiß
gelangt ans große Ziel.
NB: "Der Himmel wölbt sich übers Land..." is the refrain of the song.

By the way Jiwon I won't be in Korea for another 20 months. By then I'll be even better at Korean (I believe OPI 3 is what my program strives for; I was 1+ last March). Hopefully my pronunciation won't be embedded by then. I wanted to ask you about the soft consonants though. I spoke a lot of Japanese before learning Korean and I'm told to have a near-native pronunciation. Do Japanese people under-pronounce Korean consonants by any chance?

Jiwon you seem to have different tone of voice when talking in Korean than when you talk German/English.
I think I'm like that too. Reminds me of what Thomas Jefferson, you are as many different persons as how many
language you speak.

Ouch.. in 20 months I might have to go for military service! o_O
Yes, many Japanese people "underpronounce" regular consonants and double consonants. And this really deters communication when Japanese people speak Korean.
