Most audio based things give you much better freedom of movement: audiobooks, music, audio part of your textbooks (just listening to Assimil a few more times whenever I felt like it outside my home helped me a lot). When you are alone, you can even shadow or repeat or do the FSI drills without looking crazy. (I suppose you can go in a forest or somewhere like that nearby your village)

And while doing all that, you can walk or do housework (for that, you can watch video as well), exercise (better with the music or sometimes video than with audiobooks usually, at least for me), and so on. There is a lot of music in your TL that will make great company when running. And walking and running are among the cheapest and healthiest sport activities you can do.

About your back and neck pains: While walking is in general awesome, it doesn't help with these per se. But some stretching and strenghtening exercises could be a good solution. Either visit a physiotherapist or find some exercices online. There is quite a lot of resources. And even ten minutes or so of well chosen exercises a day can do marvels.

And another activity the music in Spanish fits perfectly: dancing! Good exercise, really fun, noone needs to see you if you don't wish to be seen, and there is so much of the music. Many genres, many kinds of lyrics and so on.

Dancing... that's what I do when I'm listening to Brazilian radio. My wife thinks I'm crazy.

I would still recommend doing some other kind of daily exercise as well. I used to try to sneak some learning into my gym time, but now I just focus on doing what I'm there to do.

I second this. I'm one who listens to my foreign language recordings while commuting, I study at the computer, I do it when I go to the bathroom, I read books, both electronic and paper, but in the gym, I like to have a workout that is so intense I can't be distracted by trying to learn something.

That said, I agree that things like walking, etc, can easily be accompanied with study.

I don't understand how people can not get plenty of exercise.

It's not just the negative effect on your physical well-being but your brain functioning
properly depends on it.

Put the books down, get off the computer and hit the gym. You'll have far better learning
results if you do.

I don't do any sports. My brain is still functioning quite well though.

I guess science must be wrong about the importance of exercise then.

At least it's being exaggerated a lot...
