I don't remember if you mentioned it with me or not but I watched the first episode and I almost did harakiri for how slow they speak :D Cannot stand it sorry :( Today I saw an episode of "Que vida mas triste" and I find the speed of the speech only average. I remember that at the beginning I found it very fast, so I think that I'm more and more used to fast speech. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Well, try a later episode maybe? The first ones are obviously slow but as far as I remember it gets better.

I also saw 30 seconds of the last one. Still slower than all Spanish audio that I ever listened.

Sounds like you might have surpassed that level Tristiano to get much out of Destinos. Nevertheless I
certainly can't recommend Destinos enough (all components of the course) to those looking for a comprehensive and enjoyable Spanish self study course. Love it! Of all the courses I've used, this imo is the best I've come across to date. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

-- No, I'm not studying Norwegian. Like Lithuanian or Russian or Persian or whatever. Same reason. It would be cool but I don't need it in my life. Better concentrating on improving the languages I already know. - I need English - I need French - I need Dutch - I need... no, I don't need Spanish. But it is so easy and I like it so much that at a certain point I will need it. -- My Spanish is improving lesson after lesson, day after day. I'm wandering if I should move it on 'Speaks'. I'm definitely speaking it and I can survive in a Hispanophonic country without too many troubles. I'll probably say 'gambas' instead of 'piernas' making people laughing (happened in a tutoring session :P ) but if I hear 'piernas' I immediately understand that (s)he's talking about what I was calling 'gambas' previously :D It probably is a very short 'basic fluency' but it's there. -- I need more and more Dutch. In March I will commit to have two professional lessons and two informal tutoring per week, plus continuing Assimil. I agree tristano might be too advanced for Destinos. Well, not just that, I believe he
is far too adanced for that. I've already watched a few series in Spanish, dubbed ones for now, and I found Erase una Vez (Once upon a Time) quite accessible for an intermediate learner, especially one with such a rich romance background. I think you might be already much better at than I am and surely much better when I was when I started watching tv seris. All I'v watched so far goes like this from the less difficult to the most in my opinion: -Erase Una Vez, -Game of Thrones (a bit harder but still not that much), -Demonios de da'Vinci (this one felt faster and more complicated), -Los pilares de la Tierra (I found this one really hard but I could understand nearly everything in the end. Not only the language seemed to me quite difficult and fast, there are only 8 episodes so it is less time to get used to everything and I dislike instant rewatching of series). If you prefer originals and feel like diving into them right away, there are plenty on rtve.es and they can be watched from abroad. I got some recommendations from Spain in my 2014 log, I'll check it up later. Your progress made me smile, you have lots to be proud of. Are you still continuing with the class? What is it like? And your tutor? I've just caught up with your log and I simply loved this jewel, thanks:

You need to watch Aquí no hay quien viva, and other programmes that are series.
The speech is not only fast, but they have colloquial register, which means that many conversations are not like the textbook, and following as a non-native is much more difficult. Many "gillipollas", "no me jodas" and other things that are common and non- standard in terms of formal education. Right now I am going through the serie Sin identidad, which is on Atresplayer. The Atresplayer costs 2,67€ per month for a subscription, and although some programmes are unavailable outside of Spain, many are and I can access them. 2 persons have voted this message useful |
