I know someone who's bilingual and she says Polish is indeed difficult.

I think that the forms of the word second are included in this list. There is a

I voted for other language. As an Asian non native English speaker I can say that English is hard! But English like Mandarin has a large base so precision isn't so important, don't sweat the tones. You can make mistakes and be understood unlike Tieng Viet. I have only met a few foreigners who could speak Vietnamese well. For us Korean is probably the most studied and most difficult Asian language, followed closely by Japanese. Not many people study Mandarin but basic conversation is pretty common. I can speak a bit but I never studied it. There are supposed loan words but you have to go way back to figure them out.
There is still a large population of Chinese in Vietnam and now we have alot of illegal immigrants from China working in the mining and construction business so exposure is common. Now we also have alot of Russians coming here and in the resort towns alot of people are rushing to learn this. This is very difficult for us indeed. Russian is the hardest for the Asian I think. Edit: For clarity Many of the Russians come here for holiday or are working in the petrochemical business. Where I live in Vung Tau we even have a place called the Russian Village and Russian television, with many Rusiian people coming to retire or vacation. This is to the extent that many people have switched from learning English to Russian. Very good bread and I love the borscht soup too. Basque might be a pieace of hell, I guess it's verb system is tougher than the slavic languages' one
