a lengthy audio file (1 hour and more) AND
the corresponding text AND
a translation of this text?

Japanese transcripts and audio for a number of works. It should be easy to find the English versions for the non-Japanese works. I'll add more as I find them.

# - Contained in the collection of short stories, "The Curious Casebook of Inspector Hanshichi : Detective Stories of Old Edo," translated into English by Ian MacDonald.
Updates
7/20 Added Natsume's "Three Cornered World," which I missed the first time because its Japanese name, "Grass Pillow," is different than its translated name. Also added a few more chapters of "Genji" and 2 works by Dazai.
7/21 Added "Little Red Riding Hood." I also did some research and now believe that the version of "Genji" listed is an updated one which was translated into modern Japanese within the last 100 years. Hence it should be usable for Listening-Reading.
7/21 Added stories by Okamoto.
7/22 Added "Oku No Hosomichi." Included 2 different audio links--one has the audio split into 5 parts and the other into each of the 45 short chapters.
7/24 Added "Kokoro," "Ivan the Fool," "Le Petit Prince," "Red Headed League," and "Adventure of the Dancing Men." Also added links to parallel texts for several of the works.
Since this list may get buried in this thread, I'm going to add it to the first post of my Learning Log and continue updating it there.

there are some audiobooks there, too. Some links are still working.

You might find it useful to know that you can save the Japanese audio files - links by Sheetz above - straight to your comp and listen to them offline using Streembox Vcr.
To convert them to mp3 or wav you might use Streambox Ripper.

Proust's "Combray" here., and the online free French text is here.. The English text is here.
Camus' "L'Etranger" is here.. I am not sure whether there is a free source for the French text, as I own the book.
Balzac's "Pere Goriot" is here. English Text French Text

Hi everyone,
Has anyone stumbled upon any audio books with transcripts for Dutch? I have searched high and low and have had no real luck. I would like to try the listening reading method if I can find sufficient materials.
Thanks.
Maxwell.
