For German, I'm a big fan of Udo Lindenberg. You can usually find the lyrics on the web somewhere if they are not on the CD liner. For French, if you don't mind (or like) something old fashioned and nostalgic, there's Charles Trenet, or Jaques Brel, and a few more of that ilk that I can't remember. What does everyone think of the Living Language Advanced German Course?

I am a big fan of supermemo.net learning platform and their English and Polish courses - especially those with a tutor. They are cheap, you can try them before buy, they take care for repetitions.

I bought the 'Living Language: German Beyond The Basics' pack (book, dictionary, CDs). I haven't started German yet, but I've gone over the book, and I'm really impressed with it. But that's Living Language for you. They're good! :D 2 persons have voted this message useful | ||||||

I used the DLI, FSI courses in reverse. Vietnamese to English with good results. Up until 1975 we could take English in school and many did, myself included. For about 15 years that all ended but with the internet and tv plus alot of intrest in learning English; I managed to get pretty good at it. BTW the DLI, FSI courses for Vietnamese from the 60's and 70's use alot of outdated vocabulary. You will still be understood though.
