Hi Cathryn. I've been reading through your Japanese writing, and although there are a
few mistakes here and there everything is understandable and your Japanese seem to be of a very high standard - well done! If you don't mind, though, I will give you one piece of advice, which is that you should be writing in the です・ます form rather than the plain form. It's a mistake a lot of Westerners make, and I think it probably stems from a keenness to shift to casual language as soon as possible, but it is actually quite rare to write Japanese in the plain form - it tends to sound excessively abrupt and a little childish. Alright, thanks for the comment. I'll give です・ます a try.
Yeah, I'm hoping that daily writing will help me iron out some of the bugs in my Japanese. It is making me think during the day about what I'm going to write, and that's making my brain work in Japanese and Finnish a bit more. 1 person has voted this message useful | |
