What about a nice January challenge? Any ideas dear fellow members of Team Forza?

I've seen other teams having an "Introduce yourself" challenge. You can make it as detailed as you like depending on your level:explain why are you studying Italian, what are your goals for this year, what's your experience with this language.... If you have just started learning Italian one or two brief sentences would suffice :)

Do you think this could be a good first challenge?

I agree with the "Introduce yourself in Italian" challenge. Some of us have already done it, but for those who haven't, feel free to do so now!

I've not had any objection, so I'm making Forza the official team name.

I like the name. Luckily you didn't name it "Forza Italia"...

A couple of years ago I posted a link to the online videos and transcripts in several foreign languages at LangMedia.

Since I first stumbled on the site, the colleges involved have added more videos (and their transcripts). For your interest, here are the Italian ones:

Italian in Italy (includes some video reenactments of situations described in phrasebooks; a handy way to see the link between stock phrases and body language)

Enjoy.

"Forza Italia" vuol dire qualcosa? Ho visto che c'era un partito politico con quel nome, ma...

I just saw this group. Good luck everyone, i'll be sure to follow along :)

Yes it does; the name came from the cry of sport supporters and means "Go Italy!" :)

Ah ok, thanks! I thought it was similar to the fascist "¡Arriba España!" in Spain. "Go Italy!" doesn't sound so bad :P

How about a new linguistic challenge for February? Any suggestion out there?
