In today's Russian lesson: how to book a train ticket, and also, the lack of creativity of the Russian language.
Antagonism = антагонизм.
Guess that's one screwed up consonant cluster less to learn.

Allez moi!

Oh my god. The hammy acting in this dialogue... it kills me. (Sixth chapter of Ruslan 1, the main dialogue...)
First the hammy random "guy asks girl to a restaurant which he obviously sees as a date and the girl doesn't, complete with hammy over-the-top voice acting going all Людмила, проходите пожалуйста, садитесь...
Then there's the gratuitous unnecessary Pushkin reference which the book feels a random reason to include (and also an excerpt explaining that that is actually the reference because a) nobody knows Pushkin and b) let's not actually teach anybody any Russian here) to cover up the attempt of asking "are you single"...
Then the cliche OH LOOK THERE'S SOMEBODY I KNOW COME HERE AND SAVE ME FROM THIS CREEP...
Leaving it in the middle whether she actually understood the Pushkin or not...
I cannot stop laughing at how absolutely silly this dialogue is. Also how silly Ivan is in trying to pick the girl up and also how silly Lyudmila is in responding...
Oh my god. Soap Series Dialogues.

One day when I have lots of time I will create the language course I would have liked to study myself.
Perhaps we could all chip in? Team Sputnik's Russian course - learn Russian with intelligent and funny
dialogues? And a crime story?

Mine would probably be a modernized Notes from Underground.
And it would have a lot of anekdoty.
