It's still just as hard as ever to fend off my wanderlust. I thought recording every step of my work on these five languages might slake my thirst for constant new beginnings, but no, I've already strayed several times in the past few weeks. I subscribed to one Norwegian podcast and one in Chinese, I read a quick grammatical intro to the Northern Germanic languages plus Dutch, and I watched a couple of Turkish music videos. All of these forays were quickly reined in, however, and I've generally been very successful in redirecting my hunger for new languages into a new intensity of focus on my current five. So things aren't really quite as bad as I'm making them out to be, I suppose.

I guess my main area of frustration right now is simply that I'm not making progress as fast as I'd like to be. In Italian and French especially, I'm probably making progress as fast as my brain can possibly handle it, and German's going quite well too, but I still feel dissatisfied with my hour or less of study per day per language. I know if I just had the time to use multiple resources (e.g. textbook/audio/video) for each language every day, my progress would be even more rewarding. But I imagine this is always the linguaphile's lament, and don't we all want more hours in a day?
