To speak about grammar in Berlin this summer without provoking a mass exodus. To reach the end of my Harry Potter I in Irish and being able to understand at least the last chapter without looking half the words up. To do a mostly monolingual trip to Greece and have at least a few friendly natives answer me in the local language. And maybe also to listen to some spoken Russian in among all the written stuff so that I later can pull the same stunt off there.

To talk easily in Polish;
Brush up French to B2+
Hit C1 Spanish
But most of all not laugh when the French guy working with us says: "I'm having an affair" every time his phone rings when he means; "I have other business"

oOo, this is fun! I haven't really thought about this yet, so let me get out my crystal ball...

Spanish
My goal is to read as much as possible. Thanks to Serpent's Consistency Thread, I've already begun reading almost every day. I also need to start speaking with people! I am going to start looking for language exchange partners on italki sometime soon.

Other
That's where my clarvoyant powers end. Maybe I'll start German/Turkish/Dutch or resuscitate my French.

Improve my Vietnamese so I can speak with the locals and read the newspapers. Study
Japanese since I live in the "Little Tokyo" section of Ho Chi Minh City so I can talk to
pretty Japanese ladies :) Brush up on Khmer because I will visit Phnom Penh again and
deliver supplies to the Sunflower Orphanage there.

I have mainly goals for Mandarin in 2014:

1. read at leat five books that year
2. write at least four lang8 entries a week
3. watch more TV in Mandarin/ listen more
4. meet with a native speaker about once a week for a chat to get over my fear of speaking.

There are some more goals, but they are more like stretch goals, because those above should keep me busy. I'm also planning on reading three books in French, but that's pretty much all for that language.
