Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

This quiz is pretty accurate. It figured out my accent correctly and where I am from (Western NY).

I got the same result, I'm from Western NY as well =0

But most people usually say I have quite a British accent. On the other hand, I like New York.... :)

I was skeptical that such a small number pronunciation clues would nail my origin, but it did.

It pegged my accent exactly. It said I have an Inland North accent; I'm originally from Connecticut but lived for many years in western New York and picked up that Chicago or Great Lakes accent, which I find very noticeable when I listen to recordings of myself.
