Had a bad couple of weeks. I came down with some bug and didn't get anything done. I'm back on track now. Finished lesson 25 today.

Finished! It's nice to be able to tick Pimsleur off my Mandarin to-do list. Now it's time to decide on the next program.

I've decided to do the Teach Yourself Complete Chinese. This is the newer version of the TYS Chinese. I've edited down the audio to dialogs only, which comes to about 53 minutes. I am going to try something a bit different in the beginning. I will spend several days shuffling through all the dialogs before opening the book. I am curious to see how much I understand. It also should be a good exercise for my listening skills.

Wow, I am suprised by how long it's been since I've updated my log. I knew it had been a while but 5
months...
I have done little in the way of studying. I have had a greulling few months at work that I am just now pulling
out of. Along with a planned trip to Taiwan in December, it's time to get going.
I want to make some word lists. My son has been learning vocabulary by topic (transportation, shapes,
animals, etc.), and my wife has been testing him at night. So I should piggy back on that. At the same time I
will try to finish the TYS Complete Chinese. I probably have less than half the book to go.

I have been slowly but surely reviewing the first 17 chapters or so.
