hand - French

EDIT: To the previous poster, are you sure "mam'/man' trentin" is the Swahili translation for "hand"? It looked a little
odd to me even though I don't know any Swahili, so I looked it up on Google Translate and got something very
different... remember, the rules are to either post another word in the same language, or to post the same word in
a different language.

You're right, the word for 'hand' in Swahili is mkono. I'm not sure where xander got that from, but I think Trentin is a local Italian language/dialect. I'll just continue from where you've left off.

ἡ ὁδός odos

Greek - Way, Road, name by which the early church called themselves

ᾐτήσατο παρ’ αὐτοῦ ἐπιστολὰς εἰς Δαμασκὸν πρὸς τὰς συναγωγάς, ὅπως ἐάν τινας εὕρῃ τῆς ὁδοῦ ὄντας, ἄνδρας τε καὶ γυναῖκας, δεδεμένους ἀγάγῃ εἰς Ἰερουσαλήμ. ΠΡΑΞΕΙΣ 9:2

and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Acts 9:2

Interesting! Coes is the Welsh word for leg. Obvisously a cognate.

troed is the Welsh word for foot.

Cos

Irish word for foot.

Cos is also the Catalan word for body. Does this mean we can switch the word to 'body', or change the language to either Catalan or Irish ?

Llwybr /ɬʊiːbr/ - way, path
Welsh

there's a Welsh rap duo called Llwybr Llaethog=Milky Way

Llybr - way
Llaeth - milk
Llaethog - milky

Lot of voiceless alveolar lateral fricatives in that one! /ɬ/

via is indeed the parallel Latin word for ὁδός:

et petiit ab eo epistulas in Damascum ad synagogas ut si quos invenisset huius viae viros ac mulieres vinctos perduceret in Hierusalem Actus Apostolorum 9:2

Camino

Way - Spanish

y le pidió cartas para las sinagogas de Damasco, a fin de que si hallase algunos hombres o mujeres de este Camino, los trajese presos a Jerusalén. Hechos 9:2
