Due to preparations and studying for school examinations that I will have to do in the
next two years, I doubt I'll have much time for languages- sadly.

However, in the examinations I'm going to have to take an English exam (which is
a joke, since the level is less than B2 and I'm fluent) and a Germanexam. I'm
going to prepare for both, of course, to be sure it's going to be ok. German scares me
the most, because I have not used i for a while, so I going to work on it more.

Also, I'd like to reach a B1 Russian- I'm about A1, I can write and say basic
stuff and a B1 French. I'm always abandoning French for some reason.

I hope I manage all of that- and mostly the Russian part!- but I will most likely get
bored, stop and say the same things in the 2015 thread... xD
Wish you the best of luck, I hope you reach your goals :)

My primary goal for 2014 is to achieve fluency in Spanish. I want to be confident telling
people that I speak Spanish by April. Once I've reached my goal in Spanish I will return
to French and work on achieving "basic fluency". I also want to get serious about
learning Russian and reach a low intermediate level by the end of the year.

A secondary goal for the year is to go through Duolingo for German. Other languages on my
mind to start are Arabic and Japanese, but first things first :)

Well, I first thought I'd try and stop rolling around aimlessly in various languages, but I don't think I'll manage, really.

So instead, a few basic aims:

- Get my French to a B2 level
- Get to a basic fluency in Portuguese, which I started a few days ago.
- Win a bet with a friend from Iran (two bottles of decent South African Nederburg red wine if I can converse in basic Farsi); I might have an extension from this into 2015 if we don't manage to meet in 2014. Considering the alcohol involved, this has, naturally, utmost priority.
- Steadily improve isiZulu, in a "slow and steady wins the race" mentality (aka, I'll just kinda work a bit on it when I happen to be in the mood; usually, it happens about twice a month)

Then, if I get distracted (or rather "when", which is often) I'll indulge a bit in Sesotho, Kiswahili, Korean, etc.

My primary goal is to get my Italian to a B2/"Be able to talk like a smart person" level.
After that, start either Arabic or Dutch.

None in languages. I'd like to start learning Polish, but if it doesn't happen I won't
beat myself up over it. Languages are a hobby to de-stress, I don't want to add more
pressure.

After a very prolonged bout of French, I’m going to enjoy a more varied language 2014. I think 2014 will be my year of wanderlusts. I’ve no idea what languages I’ll end up studying, but I’m looking forward to it.
