Cool! You should definitely join a TAC team, you would do very well! And yeah, at the beginning I was doing Russian and Italian but now I am doing mostly Russian and Spanish. I don't update about Spanish a lot though because I don't really know what to say about it...I did write a few things in Spanish, though. Today I found an iPhone app called SimSimi. It's a chat thing except you don't talk to
real people. It just learns what people say to it so it kind of seems like you're talking to someone. It's sort of like Cleverbot, except better because it speaks other languages! Today I've been talking to it in Russian and looking up all the words it says to me that I don't know haha. Today I went over my textbook from school. I reviewed the chapter "распорядок дня."
I want to read more but my dad is listening to horrible radio stations outside that don't come in and I can't concentrate. So since I'm just on the computer listening to music I guess I'll write something! :) вчера я встала в 9 часов. Я не завтракала потому, что я видела мюзикл "Книга Мормона" в 12 часов. Это очень смешной мюзикл! Я любила особенно музыку и хореографию. Я также не обедала. Я ела только большое печенье! Чего or что are used colloquially to mean почему. It can also be poetic so maybe these are old-fashioned bits that stayed in the spoken language? Don't know.
Anyway, the correct colloquial written Russian would be Чего-то :) Mistakes with particles are considered disgusting by anyone who knows the rules concerning them. So чего-то is same as почему-то and can be translated as for some reason. We don't really use видеть the way you use see:) for us it's like hear vs listen, so that would be смотрела. However, you can say я вчера видела программу про... if you just randomly found something interesting on TV rather than watched it *seriously* - no planning in advance, probably not from the very beginning etc. but attending any sort of performance is usually смотреть or just быть/ходить на - usually not сходить, unless words like наконец are there or implied. Oh god that's complicated:/ It does feel right to say "я вчера видела матч" or especially "видел вчера, как Спартак играл с Барселоной?". These could only be used about watching football/soccer on TV though and these highlight the visual part, like "did you SEE?" :) and to add more subtleties, видеть can also highlight the experience, like видеть живьем - see a band live, or Какие ты видела мюзиклы? So "I've seen" is видела but "I was seeing" is more like смотрела. And любила is more like "I loved someone/something in the past", in this case it's мне понравилась=) 2 persons have voted this message useful | ||||||

A couple days ago I went over a chapter in my textbook that we never got to in class (the

в прошлом месяце я пошла работать в университет. Я учительница (я не знаю, как по-

Они не дают мне многих денег, толька 70 долларов в неделю, но это достаточно. I wanted to say I teach writing, not English, but I'm not sure how to say that, and I don't want to just guess. So how should I say it? Update: Today I went over the last chapter in my book (I kind of just flipped through it) and listened to the vocabulary list at the end.
