As one can see, I've already changed my challenge somewhat. Portuguese and Spanish (advanced level) don't have to be every day, just upkeep really. Spanish because I haven't been to Spain, or done anything with Spanish for 20 years, and have become a bit rusty. Portuguese for more or less the same reason. I live in Portugal, but my partner and all my friends are English speakers, so I don't use Portuguese all that much these days. I used to, but then I also used to go out much more, and knew Portuguese people with whom I talked about more than just everyday things, like the weather etc..... I also used to read more and watch Portuguese television. But ever since we got Sky TV it's all English. So a little literary reading won't come amiss. I've also split up the Chinese challenge into intermediate textbook study and traditional hanzi reading (the DeFrancis books). Let's see how that goes. Every day! As it is a "consistency" challenge I'd better do Spanish and Portuguese every day. So I shall. 3. Most is just reading in languages I know quite well: as far as reading comprehension goes Russian is B2/C1 (I'll have to do a mixture of intensive and extensive reading though), Portuguese and Spanish are near native level.
