Привет всем! This is just a quick subspace message to let everyone on the team know I'm "still in" and haven't been swallowed by a singularity or scooped up by an extraterrestrial garbage scow. The last few months have been very very tough though, and I've had to cast adrift into deep space to resolve other more pressing issues and forego any language studies in the meantime. I'm still of course crazy about all things Russian, and hope to head back to the space station and start studying and posting again very soon.

Glad to see you back Teango!

And well done the few of you who have studied regularly and kept the team together! I will try to catch up on your
logs as soon as I can.

Having done no Russian since February (and just a limited amount of French and Italian) I have now picked it up
where I left it back then and joined the 6wc. And I realize again what a fantastic language it is!

Happy to see both of you, and sorry to hear that you have been through a tough time Teango. Aloysius,
would it be possible to talk you into making a few of those nifty little charts you used to do?

Since we have two members among the top three as we speak, it would be a nice thing to have. And it would
also be nice with a team revival, as the permafrost seams to have swallowed most of us :-)

Well it seems that I have markedly improved my
Russian here anyway. I can handle all
interactions here in it. Including the week I
spent in Tomsk with my friends which was
Russian only.

Actually so far I have spoken Dutch,  English,
Russian, French, German, Swedish, Hebrew,
and improvised some Portuguese and Spanish and
Italian. I also encountered an American girl
who spoke Romanian as in Moldova.

That's great news, tarvos! It sounds like you're in your element over there and making lots of friends too. How's the voyage across Lake Baikal going by the way (I hear it's absolutely stunning)?

Baikal is beautiful but it was super foggy
when I got there. So I contented myself with
blubbering around on the lake for one hour.
Apparently the view from the train (which
snakes around the lake) is legendary.
