Hello to all French learners! I volunteered to head up a French team for TAC 2014, so this thread will be for signup and for organizing any "official" goings-on, whatever those may turn out to be. Free French Learning Resources Amélioration du Français Learning games and resources, focused on written French. Larousse Dictionary A great French dictionary, and probably the most extensive available online. Wiktionnaire A nice user-made dictionary with a simple layout, good for a quick check and will sometimes have expressions not available in Larousse. "Bob" A dictionary of slang and familiar language. Has some expressions that the sites above do not. Office québécois de la langue française Great resource. I enjoy browsing the "Banque de dépannage linguistique", which deals with many difficulties of usage. 7 jours sur la planète News summaries in French with everything subtitled. Great for intermediates. Collège de France Podcasts Podcasts on all kinds of topics (most of them university lectures) from the Collège de France. Les classiques des sciences sociales Free downloadable classic science / social science books. FSI French FSI Subsaharan French (with book) French In Action The famous video series, exclusively in French, meant to take you from beginner to intermediate.
