I watched/zapped through a few interviews with Björk, and it got me thinking about
using a foreign accent to your advantage. Here are the interviews in a chronological order. You can hear the development of accent between videos 1, 2 and 5. However, in videos 3 and 4 (with quite some temporal space between these two recordings), it seems like her accent deteriorated albeit her living in English speaking countries. I watched the Norwegian movie 'Kurt Josef Wagle og legenden om Fjordheksa'. Wonderfull
xD most important words i learned (both in the same context): et jur - an udder å beise - to stain I wondered how the colloquial meaning of 'beise' could develop, but the English translation nicely illustrates it (German 'beizen' doesn't have this connotation, at least I'm not aware of it). That sounds interesting! It’s a pity that my Norwegian stinks! The intelligibility of Nordic languages is “almost” a myth. Sure I’m in a better position to understand Norwegian than your average Italian, but unless I put in the hours and get used to the language (especially the spoken language – reading is always somewhat easier) using Swedish as a bridge to Norwegian is a utopic proposition. Maybe I should check out the Austrian TV-programme you linked to last Saturday instead: my German would certainly appreciate. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I know what you mean. I'm not particularly fond of Swedish, but I decided to put in the
hours because it's popping up every now and then and then I get super annoyed because my comprehension is relatively low. ------------ I finally finished the 4th audiobook of Jean Auel's Earth's Children in Swedish. Took me about 2.5 months, but it was almost 35h of listening. I'll go to Copenhagen end of this month, so I should focus on Danish for the time being.
