My Italian song: Adesso Tu (Now You) by Eros Ramazzotti. He, like Laura Pausini, sings in both Spanish and Italian, and most of his CDs are in both languages as well. I like the Spanish version of this song better than the Italian. I should have picked Se Bastasse Una Canzone, but I didn't think about it until after I was almost done with this one. Maybe I will do that one later for fun. I really enjoyed this project, and I think it's a wonderful idea for the team to work on something like this together. :)
An easier-to-read version in color is here.
Adesso Tu (Now You)
(Eros Ramazzotti)
Nato ai bordi di periferia
born on the periphery
Dove i tram non vanno avanti più
where the trams don' t go anymore
Dove l´aria è popolare
where the air is popular
È più facile sognare
and it is easier to dream
Che guardare in faccia la realtà...
than to face reality
Quanta gente giovane va via
how many young people go away
Acercare più di quel che ha
to search for more than what they have
Forse perché i pugni presi
maybe that’s why the blows
A nessuno li ha mai resi
they never returned
E dentro fanno male
and inside they hurt themselves
ancor di più
even more
Ed ho imparato che nella vita
and i’ve learnt that in life
Nessuno mai ci da di più
nobody ever gives more
Ma quanto fiato quanta salita
but how many breaths acend
Andare avanti senza
getting on without
voltarsi mai...
ever turning back
E ci sei adesso tu
and now you’re here
A dare un senso ai giorni miei
to give sense to my days
Va tutto bene dal momento che ci sei
everything goes well since
momento che ci sei
the moment you are
Adesso tu
here now
Ma non dimentico
but i didnt forget
Tutti gli amici miei
all of my friends
Che sono ancora là...
that are still there
E ci si trova sempre più soli
and one always feels more alone
A questa età non sai...non sai
in this age you dont know.. dont know..
Ma quante corse ma quanti voli
how many rides, how many flights
Andare avanti senz´arrivare mai...
getting on without ever arriving
E ci sei adesso tu
and now you’re in
Al centro dei pensieri miei
the center of my thoughts
La parte interna dei respiri tu sarai
the interior part of my breaths
La volontà Che non si limita
you will be the desire, unlimited
Tu che per me sei già
you that are already
Una rinvicita...
a support for me
Adesso sai chi è
now you know who is
Quell´uomo che c´è in me...
the man inside me
Nato ai bordi di periferia
born in the periphery
Dove non ci torna quasi più
where i almost never come back
Resta il vento che ho lasciato
stays the wind that i’ve left
Come un treno già passato
like a train that has already passed by
Oggi che mi sei accanto
today that you are close to me
Oggi che si sei soltanto
today that you’re the only one
Oggi che ci sei...
today when you are there..
Adesso tu
now you

And finally, my French song.
An easier-to-read version in color is here.
Au Soleil (In the Sun)
Jenifer Bartoli
Ce qui ne me tue pas
What doesn't kill me
Me rend forte
Makes me strong
On pourrait en venir aux mains
We could come to blows
Je suis a celui qui me transporte
I belong to the one who carries me
Je reste tant que l'on me supporte
I stay as long as you stand me
Ou je reprends seule le chemin
Or I hit the road again alone
Malgre les risques que cela comporte
In spite of the risks it includes
Avec toi j'irai bien
With you I'll be alright
Meme sans toi j'irai bien
Even without you I'll be alright
Au soleil
In the sun
M'exposer un peu plus
Going out in the sun a little more
Au soleil
in the sun
Quand le coeur n'y est plus
When my heart no longer feels like doing anything
Bruler ce que l'on adore
Burning what I adore
Et rechauffer son corps
& Warming up my body
Malgre tout l'amour que je porte
In spite of all the love I carry
Toi tu n'y entends vraiment rien
You really don't get it
Notre histoire que le diable l'emporte
Our story, may the Devil sweep it away
Avec toi j'irais bien
With you I'll be alright
Meme sans toi j'irais bien
Even without you I'll be alright
Any corrections are welcome. :)

I have this bad habit (when I'm home alone) of sitting down at the computer while I eat and watching something on YouTube. I came across this guy on accident and started listening to him. How to FLUENTLY Learn Foreign Languages.
Has anyone ever heard of this guy? Does anyone know if he speaks anything other than English? I watched about five minutes (between two of his videos), and I honestly couldn't even stomach some of the BS he was spewing. Unless you speak a dozen languages fluently, I really don't think you have a right to go bashing people like Benny, Moses and Steve. I'm sure they're not perfect, but they have done a lot of the language learning community online.
EDIT: I actually sat through two of his videos, and seriously, don't waste your time.

Yes, I have seen some of his videos before and had even subscribed to his YouTube channel for a little while, but after watching 10 or 15 of his videos all the way through I unsubscribed. He occasionally makes valid points and one of his videos did lead me to read about Automatic Language Growth and Total Physical Response, which are two non-traditional methods of teaching foreign languages. I do think that too many of his videos harshly criticize anyone who doesn't agree with him and they start to seem very repetitive after a while. He is actually a member of this forum under the name aldo, but he doesn't post much. I think he does have a short video showcasing his Spanish, but I don't know if there are videos of him speaking any other language.

Well, late last night I finished the film part of my Spanish Super Challenge. 100 films. Well, more TV episodes, than films. And a few hours of LRing audio books. I am surprised at how much better my listening comprehension is. :)
I also finished the second Harry Potter book, El Sobrino del Mago and El Leon, La Bruja y el Ropero (two of the Narnia books).
I thought I'd have time to read the two Narnia books and then catch up to my daughter with Harry Potter, but I hadn't planned on her catching croup and being home and reading for two straight days. I certainly have my work cut out for me now! Oh, the power of a good challenge. :)

Congratulations! That's really impressive. I don't think I could take a super challenge even in my native language =D Maybe it's because I don't like watching films that much and because I usually read parts of several books, all in a row. I do plan to do much smaller challenges for languages at which I'm at a higher level, like French. I've set a goal of 10 books this year, we'll see.

I ordered the new Kindle Paperwhite. The one that has the built-in translation feature for almost every language on my to-do list except Croatian.
Oh, shame on me for spending so much money, but just think about how much time it will save me for the Super Challenge reading. :D
@Expugnator: The film part is not so hard, since you can count movies, TV shows, football matches (for Serpent), and audiobooks. I am really surprised at how much my comprehension has improved after watching so much TV in Spanish. :)
It IS a lot of reading, but I am a reader at heart, and it is proving to be extremely beneficial. (It's really only 100 x 100 pages, so a 300 page book counts as 3 books.) There was a point a few weeks ago when it felt like I was working on my Spanish one day, and then I was just /reading/ the next. My Spanish reading is still much slower than my English, and I'm still writing down all the new words I come across. I'm sure that's slowing me down a lot, but it is doing wonders for my vocabulary. I am really happy with the progress I've been making.
