This is terrible news - my thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Norway, especially the families of the victims!

I really hope none of your friends or colleagues were injured in the blast.

I was in shock when I heard the news about Oslo. You contribute so much to this forum that my first thought was "I hope Solfrid Cristin is okay."

Both of my hometowns, Moscow and New York, had horrible terrorist attacks, so I think I know how you must feel, and I hope that everything will be okay...

Wow, that's very frightening and sad. I'm so glad to hear that you're okay though. I hope that everything will turn out alright without any further tragedy -- both with the attacks and with your father.

Solfrid, I had been so busy all day yesterday that I hadn't even heard about the attacks yet so reading your post was quite a shock. News like this makes me scared to be living in a capital city myself.

Like everyone else, I am very glad you're alright and I hope all your friends and family are okay as well.

It is awful. I was outside, in the street, when the bomb went off, about 300 metres from where I was. Shock wave.
Broken glass everywhere. Smoke and dust in the streets. Saw a couple of injured people that was being taken care
of. Didn't really understand the magnitude before I saw it on TV. The shooting and killing of all those innocent
young people at Utøya that started about an hour later is even worse.

Thank you teango, espejismo, ellasevia and ReneeMona for your kind words. I am sorry to hear of your experience, tractor, and I am happy to know you are o.k.

In the middle of this terrible national tragedy in Norway, I have also a personal tragedy. My kind, humorous father passed away at 7 o clock in the morning at the age of 91. He died exactly on the hour 6 months after my mother. I feel like I have a hole in my heart the size of Alaska right now.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, Cristina. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be having to lose one parent, let alone both of them within six months of each other and in the midst of a national crisis. My thoughts are with you and your family. As they say in East Africa, pole na msiba wako.
