Depending on the length a typical audiobook is 4-20 films, possibly even more.
I personally think that reading with your eyes is so important that I suggest not counting audiobooks as reading (unless one has..special needs).

I know, I debated whether or not counting audiobooks as 'books' was cheating or short-changing myself, but
in the end I decided it made more sense for me to do it this way.
1. I have plenty of access to TV/Movies in my target language, so I don't feel that I'll need those extra 'film
points' that counting audiobooks would give me.
2. Listening comprehension is a BIG weakness of mine, and I feel audiobooks will give me some valuable
practice. I find that they require a lot of focus, so I'd be a lot less likely to listen to them if I could earn those
'points' by simply watching TV instead. Counting them as books, I'm much more likely to put the effort in to
help me reach my quota.
3. As you said, a typical audiobook can be as long as 20+ films, so it's not likely that I'll listen to many of
them. I'll still get tonnes of reading practice, so I don't feel like I'll be disadvataging myself. If anything, I think
hearing vocab/grammatical structures that aren't commonly spoken aloud will aid my reading comprehension
in the long run.
That was all very over-analyzed, wasn't it?
Maybe it's pushing it to count an audiobook as a type of reading, but hey, 'book' is right there in the name ;)
Overall I feel like I'm still keeping with the spirit of the challenge, which is to push yourself to consume more
media in your TL than you would otherwise.

The time limit on editing the first posts seems to have expired. I have written to a moderator about it, but in the mean time I suggest you register both on the bot, and here, and I'll update the post if and when I am allowed to. In any event, as long as you have registred in this thread you are in, whether I have added your name to post nr. 3 or not. I think the only one I have not registred is Kafka, but like I said - since you have registred yourself that is good enough. Post 3 is just for the overview.

Weird, I can still edit my own post. I thought posts in this subforum don't expire.
