Still working on various HP in Dutch (300 pages into book 4), French (100 pages into book 1), and German (150
pages into book 1, to provide context for reading the French). Also reading A Game of Thrones in German--just
because. Maybe eventually I'll reread it in Dutch. Also working through a short Dutch audiobook I plan to finish this
week.
I've listened to many hours of Dutch podcasts, tv, etc., and a few hours of French, but I'm not counting them here
because I'm never paying full attention. I'm counting my time as 50% in the 6WC, and it's been very helpful
exposure.

I am pretty slow, but still here. Especially with reading. At the moment, I am reading short children stories. Since they are very short, I have to read a bunch of them, before I can count them as one book. I still have to look up a lot of vocabulary and grammar, which slows me down. Well, anyway, I hope I'll have read one book by the end of the month.
The movies/episodes I watch each of them twice at the moment. Once with German subtitles and after that without, but I only count the one without subtitles for the challenge.
I am glad that people around me, like colleagues or internet-friends support me. They sent or gave me books for reading and help me with questions. :D

Just finished my 2nd book, No Bajes al Sotano, 121 pages. I think I finished my other book, La Casa en Mango
Street, 112 pages, before the 100 page rule came into effect. Not much over 100, though.
In another thread related to the Super Challenge, someone mentioned reading aloud as being helpful. I do this,
too. I think it improves my pronunciation & helps get my mouth more used to speaking, which is something I need
to work on.
So what's next? I have another Escalofrios & 2 other books, both on an adult reading level, that I will eventually get
to. The library has nothing in Spanish, except some self-learning materials. Will need to check out the
recommendations on another thread for other ideas. I have been resistant to Harry Potter, but with a vacation
coming up, I need something big to keep me occupied during the hot afternoons when I will NOT be on the beach.

This challenge has been so helpful for my Spanish so far. I've been reading a little
Spanish almost everyday so I'm touching the language almost everyday. :)

UPDATE
In keeping with my attempt to learn history and languages at the same time, I watched some more documentaries, as well as did some historical reading. I watched several short documentaries from the series 100 Jahre der Countdown: Die großen Bilder des 20. Jahrhunderts that covered the years 1920-1939. All together they ran for a little under 2 hours, which I’ll count as one movie (since this is a single block of clips on YouTube.) These are great 9 minute documentaries that each focus on one single year and show film footage and interviews about one key event of that year. This is a great way to get a quick overview of the twentieth century.
In addition, I watched two longer documentaries (around 45 min. each). The documentary on Eva Braun was informative and included clips from her “home movies.” The other documentary, Der Bunker: Hitlers Ende, was an excellent documentary for anyone who likes the German movie Der Untergang (Downfall). It covers the exact same subject matter and includes interviews with Traudl Junge and historian Joachim Fest, whose books served as the basis for the movie.
I also read some of the Nuremberg Trial transcripts. I didn’t know quite how to deal with this material since I didn’t want to read the entire transcripts (22 volumes) or even entire volumes (usually 500-600 pages each), so I decided to divide the transcripts up by day. I read the transcripts for March 25, 1946 this time around (which dealt with Rudolf Hess’s case). I’ve been reading them for free online at: Der Nürnberger Prozeß. Fortunately, the page numbers from the actual print volumes are included at the end of each transcripts page online, so it’s easy for me to keep track of how many pages I’ve read. Since this historical material is too advanced for my German, I’ve been reading the English version first and then the German. (The English version is also online: The International Military Tribunal for Germany.)
I’m very close to finishing my first 100 pages in Spanish too.
