We have a clear winner.
Asgard = 8 ½ votes (Kerrie, Sabrina VG, Kez, Sarnek, ½ jeff_lindqvist*, suzukaze, daegga, Expugnator, Emme) Skål = 3 votes (AlOlaf, WoofCreature, Serpent) Midgard: 2 votes (Cavesa, Mareike) Odin = 1 ½ vote (Othar, ½ jeff_lindqvist*) *as it was insignificant for the final result, I allowed jeff_lindqvist's split vote and didn’t ask him to choose between his two preferences. The name of our team will be Asgard. Looking it up in Wikipedia, we can see that the name is spelled Asgård in Danish and Swedish and Åsgard in both bokmål and Nynorsk. Do you think we should choose an alternative spelling for the team name? And what about using the English spelling in the title of this log but then letting each member choose how to write the name in their own log, possibly reflecting the language they’re studying? Would that be a good compromise? --- Finally, do you think we should stop accepting new team members now that the TAC has officially begun? We’re 16 active members (after 5 years of successful TACs, Fasuyle has decided to move on from the TAC and I’m sure we’re all wishing her the best for her language adventures in 2014) and 5 observers. I don't think we should stop accepting new members. There's a natural shortage of

I'll write it as Asgård in my log, I love the å. I'll be happy if it's written like that in the team thread but I understand if other people have objections.

I like the idea about the alternative spellings.
I wouldn't stop accepting members because of the current number of members but because of time. Imagine we had only 12 members. When would you say it's too late to start participating? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
