I made a recording of my Indonesian text! Comments are appreciated. I know everything is extremely rough around the edges.
Audio Recording - Indonesian Introduction Text is here: Clicky Also, I've completed Assimil Indonesian up to lesson 24. I've been really good about Assimil this week! Part of the change is that I put the audio on my work computer, so I can listen to the lessons while doing other things. French has been chugging along at a slower pace. I've finished up through lesson 15 in Assimil. It's really 90% revision, which is what I wanted, so I'm happy. For Dutch, it has been the uge - reading. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I don't speak Indonesian, but the moments you throw in the little American toponyms, I

Hahah, aw, well, thanks. As I get to know Indonesian better I'll learn how to make those
place names fit in more. Lord knows Maryland isn't important enough to have its own Indonesian pronunciation already. :-P 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

That being said, I think Dutch people should study Indonesian more often, you know...

That's a really nice thought. I wonder though whether few Dutch people do because the

I think that is a part of it - besides that, Dutch-Indonesians that spoke Dutch generally

Yeah, and as a corollary to that, I imagine most Indonesian speakers living in the Netherlands already speak
excellent Dutch. Pity though. Not only is the language of cultural interest, it should be exceptionally easy for Dutch speakers to learn - even above the language's general easiness - because it was a Dutchman who set up the modern alphabet. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
