iTalki.
vragenronde, haha.

I'm definitely in for the next Polyglot Conference if I'm still here! Actually, I was
looking forward to it happening this year, but when it switched to Novi Sad... haha, no
way I can make that. x_x

Can we count you in for New York too then? Are you on the east coast? :-)

Barring a catastrophic calendar conflict, if it's in NYC I should be there.

Dutch

I had a long conversation in Dutch with my grandparents the other day. This was
probably the first time I've actually spoken Dutch since the beginning of the summer,
and, to my surprise, it went pretty well. I can still talk about pretty much whatever I
want at an intermediate level.

On the other hand, my understanding of Dutch was seriously affected by the bad
phone connection. :-( The connection was shaky enough that it'd have been a problem
even if we were speaking English, but it was still frustrating.

I guess it's also a little funny now because my grandma doesn't speak really any
English, while my grandpa speaks English fairly well. So if my grandma's on the line,
it's essential that I speak Dutch and she absolutely loves it. But when I'm speaking
with my grandpa, I get the sneaking suspicion that his English is at least as good as
my Dutch and that he's just humoring me.

Oh well, I guess he'd let me know if it were really a problem.

dinsdagavond in Riga.

Oh, I should also say that I've been writing a lot more in Dutch since I hopped back on
HTLAL. That's nice.

Veel plezier in Letland!

Latvia? Sounds pretty random to me, but I'm sure there's more to it. Have fun!
