I tried lang 8 before and for some reason (I can't remember now, would take some thinking and probably looking back at it), I didn't like it. I may have been wrong, true. But are there language exchanges even for a Czech speaker? If so, I will surely give it another try (and I'll probably never stop thanking you if that works :-) ). But I am getting used to my native language being nearly worthless on the language exchange market, it's not such a surprise after all.

A great news. During my short holiday from studying for an exam, I am getting back to my natural reading process. That means reading several books at once and just continuing with whichever I feel like to. No need to escape to other things just because I am in mood for something else. Unfortunately, I am glad to keep just one at a time during the year. I must enjoy this while I can :-)

asc french progress: 2 episodes of Eureka, which makes +1 movie

Books I am reading now:
French:
-Sookie Stackhouse 2 (only the last 100 pages or so will be read inside the challenge time as I started some long time ago),
-Sookie Stackhouse 5 (I know the story as I read it in English so it might be nice to go paralelly through the older and newer parts. Or I'll just catch myself :-) )
-Autre Monde 1 by Maxime Chattam (looks like a King like postapocalyptic story. I am still at the beginning and I enjoy it)
English:
-SoIaF 5,second part. I started reading this inside the challenge but I've still got a chunk left to enjoy without hurry. But I shouldn't read too slowly as I keep forgetting dozens of the minor chars anyways :-)
-The Name of the Wind. Several people recommended it to me. Independently. I think I begin to understand why.

the fourth and the fifth episode of Eureka= +1 French movie for the ASC

And I am considering my summer language learning.
So far it looks like this (priorities):
1.Preparation for my non language university exam above all other things, which will take away a lot of time and energy (yes, I am an idiot and need to pass it on September)
2.Super Challenges (I really need to move them forward, especially with the books)
3.German (I need to get finished with TA 1 and get working on TA 2)
4.French (tying some lose ends and working on my vocabulary)
5.Spanish (some review and Finally Finish Fiesta 1 after years of being stuck one lesson before the end)
7.Swedish (get started and into a few chapters)
8.Polish (get started and into a few chapters of the textbook)

I think July might be like this:
Monday:French and German
Tuesday: Spanish and German
Wednesday:French (less time on wednesdays)
Thursday:Spanish and Swedish
Friday: Super Challenges only!
Saturday:Spanish and German
Sunday:French an Swedish

The list includes at least 25 minutes of active studying of each. Super Challenges are part of my fun time, not learning time. So Friday is just fun time language-wise.

Yes, I might be slightly mad, that's true. But I need something to look forward to.

So, I'm going to do some reading and go to sleep. I feel like reading aSoIaF today.

Today's results:

Spanish: did about thirty minutes of review.
Swedish: did between 5-10 minutes because of lack of time but managed to read the intonation explanation (looked nice but I don't hear much of what they describe now)

French ASC: 5 episodes of Eureka = +2,5 movies

And I just noticed I mistook Swedish for German in my weekly plan. Doesn't matter.

2 episodes of Eureka = 1 more movie for ASC French

I opened a transcript from the internet but it was inacurate and abridged just as the subtitles often are :-( And it looked so promising. Well, when I am done with the Super Challenges (and get a much smaller load for the next round), I will do some intensive watching, like the Telenovela Method. I think I get excited too easily.

For the book part of both ASCs: I am reading and I'm somewhere in the middle of three books and at the beginning of fourth. I hope to finish some before the weekend. After all, I should be reading approximately 200 pages a day to get my ASCs done. I'm probably dropping the half challenges. I'll take them as full ones for the next round, so no need to mourn them.

No ASC update today, I have like 700 pages hanging in unfinished books.

Other than that:

German:I need to catch up on my vocab learning. I am not continuing with the textbook work until I reduce my around 900 reviews a day in Anki to something like 50 a day. I was lazy, I need to fight this thing down instead of doing a hundred or so reviews every few days. No new words until the beast is dead. And now new TA lessons until I have seen all the words from the previous ones. It is no worth stumbling on them over and over again just because they are buried deep inside the deck.

Swedish! I am bravely going through the exhausting pronunciation chapter of my Švédština nejen pro samouky textbook. I really like the course, the audio is good etc. I just wish they had added the meanings to the pronunciation examples. It isn't so much fun practicing on things meaning of which I don't know. I can tell some of them but not all and I don't want to spend time searching in dictionary when I need to focus on listening and repeating the sounds.
