Hmm, I would't mind a Germanic - German excluded team, i.e. Scandinavian + Dutch. I
want to make Dutch one of my focus languages but probably not earlier than in June.
Otherwise, I'll be spying on you, and I may ask you to please, please let me join you
sometime during TAC ;)
@Expugnator: The Scandinavian team consists of Norwegian learners mostly, so it might
be useful for you after all. I don't want to get confused with other Scandinavian
languages either but I think being in the same team with learners of other languages
shouldn't be all that confusing.

I think the Romance team could split in 2: the French team (at least 14 are doing French) and the Romance minus French team.

Regarding Dutch, I would like to be in one team for it, but I won't be able to tackle Dutch before next February. Being realistic, I'm busy enough now with German and English and maaaany other things. As I expect to be in the Netherlands by next February, I'll take Dutch then. That makes me fear not to be a "TAC teammate" for 1,5 months, so the idea of being part of a larger team in terms of number of languages sounds appealing to me. If that doesn't happen, I'd still enjoy reading the logs, but it wouldn't be the same since I wouldn't be really a piece of the machinery. Of course this is a selfish point of view stated on the basis of my personal situation!! I understand everybody has got different situations to consider. |

I'm sorry. I'm not quite sure what you are saying. Does this mean you want off the Dutch team?
I don't think it would be a major problem if you couldn't start until February. TAC doesn't start until January anyway, so it wouldn't be such a long time before you could start.

Expugnator:
I took you off the Scandinavian team.
a3:
I put you on *jäŋe /*ledús & Scandinavian
Bjorn:
You are now signed up for the Germanic team.
Julie:
I don’t know if the Dutch will join the Scandinavians or not. There aren’t many of them, but they seemed rather determined to remain independent.
I agree that it might be a good idea to split up the Romance team in some way as it will probably be difficult to keep up with one’s teammates as is, but I think the team itself should take a vote on it and decide.

Those of you with an interest in Slavic languages are very welcome in team Slavic+Romance! As we're a much smaller team, I don't even mind if you have no plans to learn them in 2013. Curiosity is enough:)))

@ Expugnator: I wouldn't worry about getting confused - you do not have to have Skype sessions if you do
not want to, but any explanations given for learner's of one language will probably be useful for the others as
well. And I'll be there to look after you :-)

Hmm yeah now you have a point!
I'll just wait for my situation with Georgian to be defined, because I can't join three teams. Then I will decide.

girlonthewing and TheGreaterFool you have question marks for the Middle Eastern team. Are
you in or are you waiting on something to make your decision?
druckfehler, I know you're waiting for someone else to join with Persian. So if anyone is
interested in Persian/Dari/Farsi your team is waiting for you.
We have a godmother for Arabic so let's get this team going, yallah!
