This is the German Team Thread for TAC 2014.
The "rules" for participation are simple - spend a year studying German using whatever methods and whatever level of intensity suit you, and share the experience with your fellow team members through a language learning log.

I'll be learning German at some point in 2014, hopefully sooner rather than later. I'm going from zero-experience and am really looking forward to it!

Hello fellow German TAC Team members! This is my first year do TAC, so I am very excited to see how it all works.
I started teaching myself German 2 years ago with a "one year to fluency" challenge. I was successful, as I was able to reach a "conversational" level (about B2) in that first year with about 900 hours of study. I ended up falling in love with the language and am still, to this day, captivated by it.
Last year I delved into Cantonese, Spanish, and a little Swahili while maintaining my German at B2.
My goal this year is to turn the corner on my German and get up to a C1 level.
I will post my log link as soon as I set it up. I look forward to working with all of you, and I'm very excited to get started.
If we are voting for Team names yet, I would like to suggest Team Spaß.

Hello, fellow German learners!
As you can see from first post, I'm just an observer, but German is my main TL for 2014. Maybe I'll even change that status somewhere during the year, but now I'd to participate in that way :)

Guten Tag fellow German learners!
For 2014, I'm focusing most of my time on two languages, German and Korean, with a few other "part-time" languages.
I don't have a list of goals for German. My main goal is to spend at least 350 hours actively studying the language. I'm also setting all of the self-learning courses aside. No more Assimil, Teach Yourself, Linguaphone or Living Language for German. I'll still use grammar books and vocab books, but the main activities for me will be using dual-language books, doing intensive reading and using audiobooks and movies to do some intensive and extensive listening.
My log: http://how-to-learn-any-language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?T ID=34027&TPN=8
Let's go Team Spaß!

I'd like to join this team with German, currently beginner, aiming for intermediate; my log.
I'm also studying Spanish, French, Japanese, Ukrainian.
My priorities for this year are on consistent progress in Spanish, French, and German at the same time.
I'm not focusing on active skills at the moment, though I might be more comfortable with that later in the year, if my language skills improve.
I'm not planning to update my log a whole lot, maybe weekly progress reports, more if I decide to practice writing.
Looking forward to the TAC experience!
