Well, I don't have a high level yet, but I want to learn, so a bit of writing would be perfect. I'm already practising a bit on my log and on Lang-8. As for Skype sessions, that would be a real challenge. Though, aren't we here to face up a challenge? I'd be nervous as at writing as at speaking, but practise is necessary. I don't care too much about the name of the team, really, though the last one -Kampfgeist- is kinda cool. EDIT: I have read that some old logs had had some problems. Due to it I will start a new one in January, and it would be my log for this TAC as well. Meanwhile, I will use my current log. Voice, I suppose. We can do text here... granted, I don't really know what is practical. I'm a newb. :) I like Sunja's Fleiß and stifa's Kampfgeist suggestions. :) And yay Dagane!! Elsass gefällt mir sehr, es ist nicht französisch und auch nicht deutsch. Ich habe deutsch in High School studiert. unbekannten Leuten gefällt mir eigentlich nicht. Die Wände hier ist auch sehr dünn, und ich will nicht meine Nachbarn irritieren. :p I prefer text chats because they can kind of go on forever and I find Skype much more practical than using this forum for "idle" chatting. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Unbekannten Leuten? You do injure me, sir! We are on the same team! Hahaha I'm not going to lie, though, I've
never quite worked up the courage to skype/verbling/etc with unknown people. I'm lucky to have German speakers around with whom I can do language exchanges. Okay, so we can set up a text chat perhaps at some point. :) Jawohl! 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I've never been a fan of phone talking either; for some reason, I prefer both seeing
and hearing the person, or neither. I guess I'm weird :p And I thought voice hats were only really efficient if there are native speakers involved. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I thought I was going to faint for our first Skype session, which we of all things had on New Year's Eve. That
was my second Skype session ever. We spoke only English the first time ( though we were hoarsing around with a thick Russian accent through part of it). The main thing about our Skype sessions was really to build team spirit. The main challenge for a TAC is actually to stay to the end, and not lose all your members along the way. In our sessions we have spoken mostly English, some German, a little French, Swedish, Italian, Spanish and a bit of Russian. Since our levels in Russian were so wildly different, we read out dialogues, because that made it possible for everyone to participate. We have had a few sessions where some of the conversation included a native speaker, but my best advice is to not let the best be the enemy of the good. Just getting used to Skype and each other takes like three sessions, and then you can start thinking about speaking German. Introduce yourselves, get to know each other so that you do not feel like strangers anymore. If some are beginners, let them read out dialogues. If some are more advanced they can have a conversation while the beginners listen. Be creative, but do not be afraid. We are all here to learn. 2 persons have voted this message useful |
