Would anyone be interested in doing a tandem log with me this year? I'm studying Spanish and Portuguese primarily, likely with some ASL and French, and perhaps some German, Croatian and Italian. Plus interested in every other language on the planet. :D

Wouldn't it be better to create a separate post, or page on the Wikia, for keeping track of tandem requests? We could make a list of all interested members along with the languages they are studying or would like to find a tandem partner for.

It's not about your level in the language - you just need to be a long-term member of
the forum. The main responsibility is keeping the team organized, like making sure the
first post is up to date, some teams also have challenges, and most have lists of
resources on the first page of the team thread.
I thought sctroyenne was going to be the French team leader? |

Whoa, whoa, whoa! There had been some talk of me and the Celtic team, didn't spot any
nominations for French. As PM said, perhaps having joint leadership will make it
easier. I was thinking we could also use polls to nominate and elect leaders for the
remaining teams (that, or draw straws). |

Looking at the French team members... I think most would agree it would be best to
have an advanced learner/ advanced French learners lead the team.
These are possible leaders: (please don't feel singled out, I'm just drawing attention
to those that 'might' be inclined to lead our team, i'm not suggesting you are obliged
to)
Advanced learners (ideal leaders based on expertise of French, not necessarily based
on how active on HTLAL) :

Intermediate learners (less ideal solo leaders but possible joint team leaders
perhaps?):
Jeffers
Mohave
PeterMollenburg
luke
anamsc
tristiano
eplumb!

It's 2015 in a couple of days... fingers crossed we have some advanced learners
willing to bite the bullet and put their hand(s) up? Otherwise I'm calling the police
and you'll be forced to put your hands up, and if that doesn't work, it'll be
accusations of terrorism. Untrue of course, but we'll make them look real, kinda,
depending on who the eye of the beholder is and how much persuasive media I throw your
way.
Fry a crabstick, for realio for crying out loud an' that, and so on and so forth,
etcetera. Get your faces on, know what i'm sayin?

Leadership isn't only about how advanced a learner is, it is about experience with TAC. We need someone who has done at least one TAC, preferably more than one, in any language. If they are a beginner in French, that shouldn't matter. And due to the sad loss of our team leader, for myself I don't count being in Deuxième as enough experience to know what TAC leadership should involve.
So I suppose my question is, has anyone in PMs list ever done a TAC, and would they be willing to try to take on this year's team?

sctroyenne, do you accept the leadership for the Celtic team, or would you like to share it with jeff_lindqvist? We should get the team thread started as the TAC will begin the day after tomorrow.
