Since I can't really speak any languages, excuse me if I comment on this in Spanish...
Your Russian seems quite OK (better than I could do at this point, anyway) but 10+ minutes of a guy rocking back and forth on his chair erming and uhming was just a bit too hard to watch for me. This may just be due to my hating videos of people talking when I could just read the damn transcript in one third of the time (sure I can't do that in Russian but still...). From that, the obvious advice, if you still want to hear it, would be: -Rehearse beforehand so you don't pause too often. -Make it shorter (5 minutes?) -Try to stay up right! 3 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Yeah I wasn't actually reading from a script, I was just practicing speaking seeing if I could do this. Apparently my accent is really good for a non-Russian (my Russian friend says I have none at all) and my pronunciation is really good and clear. (I have no idea whether this is true - I cannot judge - but if the Russians say it is good, it is probably not awful).

Your pronunciation is good, you always pronounce the hard l instead of the soft one, ш is
not hard enough, so больше sounds like болще. Some stresses are wrong. You often started sentences but did not finish them. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Thanks for the tip, Mark. I have trouble keeping ш and щ apart. How do you recommend I solve this? (I find them hard to tell apart).

Quelques petites remarques pour aujourd'hui:
- J'ai commencé avec (encore) lire un roman d'Amélie Nothomb (Stupeur et Tremblements). Ce livre s'agit de leur second séjour au Japon (elle est née a Kobe, Japon et donc a vécu là-bas jusqu'à cinq ans) - elle allait là-bas pour travailler dans une compagnie japonaise comme une interprête. Ce livre montre la culture des affaires au Japon - et les méthodes qui les japonais utilisent pour "punir" ceux qui ne conviennent leur methode et système de travailler. Plus et plus, Amélie est humilié et rédirigé vers le fond de l'hierarchie; j'ai pas fini le livre, mais c'est absolument claire qu'ici il s'agit d'un déception et que les ordrees de ses superieurs commes (il faut que vous oubliiez le japonais entièrement). - La deuxième chose pour aujourd'hui raconte un petit rendez-vous que j'ai eu avec une studente qui fait ses études ici aussi - et aussi elle suit la même cours - sciences et communication. Elle est née a la Suisse-Romande, et evidémment elle parle le français (probablement assez mieux que moi :)). Elle m'a dit que ma voix change quand je parle français (apparemment il y a une change dans mon intonation et mon prosodie quand je parle le français - je sais que c'est normale pour moi de lui changer quand je parle l'anglais, mais j'ai pas si remarqué que la même chose se parut en français). Je sais que j'essaye de prendre soin de la prononciation et la rhythme des phrases, mais c'est toujours bien de recevoir un tel compliment :) По-третих, вчера я сделал до 83-ого урока в Ассимиле. Я тоже закончил урок 15 в ТЙ. Как на францусзком, я могу замечать мой прогрес на русском. Больше и больше, я замечаю что грамматические уравнения мне дают легче. Не значит что я умею говорить свободно по-русски, а всё-таки мне хорошо получить приметы что у меня ещё успех на русском, и вообще, на изучениях иностранных языках. Сейчас нужно найти кто-нибудь говорит по-русски, недалеко от меня.... А теперь, мне надо ещё писать диссертацию... Un heureux événément s'est passé aujourd'hui: j'ai commandé L'Hébreu sans peine (venant d'Assimil). Il me restera probablement quelques semaines avant l'arrivée, mais je suis heureux d'avoir la confiance de réussir à apprendre l'Hébreu avec un fondament dans deux langues étrangères: l'anglais (qui n'est pas encore proprement "étrangère" pour moi quand même, mais soit) et le français.
Je n'ai pas déjà crée un plan de l'attaque pour conquérer cette langue, mais avec deux livres pour des novices (j'ai aussi raconté ici que j'ai achété The Routledge Introductory Course to Hebrew, qui va probablement arriver très bientôt, dans un ou deux journées, ensemble avec ma nouvelle dictionnaire française). Mais bien, il faut que je fasse et finisse premièrement mes études fondamentales en russe. Préparez-vous, les Israelites, fils de Dieu - tôt je parlerai votre langue aussi bien que vous :) (Non, c'est exaggèré. ш is close to devoiced English R, while щ is close to English sh (a bit softer). Soft л is like German or French L, I don't know about Dutch. So, I think you can easily pronounce words like сильный correctly. 1 person has voted this message useful |
