Somehow they are not similar, so that helps not confusing things. You, on the other hand, know the northern languages which I like listening to, and are so exotic and mysterious to me.
There is not enough time and energy to satisfy wanderlust!
Cristina, if I add another language please tell me off!

Russian
Assimil - Russian Without Toil 1951 is my textbook from now on.
Finished the introductory course about the alphabet. Many international words, not to mention greek in that vocabulary. Funny to read Stalin and Romanov at the same page.
Good, clear voices. Lovely cursive script, to be imitated.

Hebrew
Printed some letter flashcards, and some worksheets. I will be focusing on learning the letters first, and then get into the assimil course, because frankly I don't see how else to do this. I can't be struggling with the alphabet while learning the language.
There is the print script, the cursive, and the cursive print which I will never use but I'll learn to recognise.
My first reaction was panic,as you can imagine. But I got over it. :)

Russian Without Toil is really a dense course. If your French is good enough to study an
Assimil book, keep an eye on le Russe sans peine (1971/73) too, actually it won't be a
loss of time.
PS : Looking forward to see grecoturkish common cultural heritage pieces on your Turkish
updates. I heard we share many words!

Hebrew? Well that's a change. So is your interest primarily in Hebrew as a modern spoken
and written language in Israel, or are you also interested in Classical texts at all? The
advice I would give and your best approach probably depends on your end goals and
interests.

Thanks for the russian advice. I have also heard wonderful things for the 1970s course. Yes, my french will be both helpful and helped, with the assimil course.
I am very excited about common words as well. I will be pointing them out as much as possible!

It's not really a change. I had always wanted to learn but I was a bit of a coward, I think.
Modern Hebrew. I'd love your advice!
