Tamagotchi might be a step too far, but how about 卵 - since we are all eggs hoping to hatch into fully fledged Japanese speakers, right? Or is this just a continuation of my previous food filled post?

Team name...
Harakiri and Kamikaze are instantly recognizable but unfortunately the suicide thing may send across the wrong message. Same with Seppuku. Katana? Well known, powerful, and even a bit menacing ;) Fugu, as the fish you better don't mess with? Banzai, or "togeki-raigeki" (torpedo attack!) in the short form "Tora!" (how famous was Fleischer's film)? Now, TSUNAMI is powerful and even if it's not ultra-short it has become almost a synonym of ANNIHILATION as a loanword in every language -- I can't think of anything that summarizes better the spirit of the TAC. I don't think the name has to be ultra-short, just short enough to leave room for a few more words in the log-title. Tsumani is fine by me. Everyone knows what it means and it clearly fits in with the idea of annihilation.

Tsunami is not bad but I am worried it could be seen as somewhat insensitive by Japanese
people. I wouldn't want to say to a Japanese person, "I'm on Team Tsunami". It does fit with "annihilation" though, that's for sure. I guess my vote stays with the Satori/Zen theme. I was thinking of changing my desktop wallpaper to reflect the Team name, which would be quite easy to do with Zen. 1 person has voted this message useful |
