which language are you doing sunja? i'm glad i'im not the only person who is at a beginner type level. I'm not
exactly zero but i'm certainly going to be very good at this reading thing early on.
My view on it is, like you, that it can't hurt. if I find it too difficult, i won't have lost anything.

what we're not starting now? yikes! That sucks because I already sort of started. Oh well, i was planning on reading
and watching movies regardless and there is a wealth of material available, especially if i use my buffy dvds and
stuff.
Are you holding off to start for the challenge or going to start some basics now?

well, I suppose a few weeks won't matter in the course of 20 months, he-he. I wasn't going to "officially" start since I'm trying to put in extra time with French, but to be truthful I've already started watching a DVD "Canavarlar yaratiklara karşi"! It will probably take me a week to get through it if I do the "rewind-pause-thing".
dandt, are you (or anybody else) planning on keeping a log? This is my only challenge outside of TAC so I'm eager to see how people plan to keep track of their progress..

I am planning to take this on as a half challenge (50 books + 50 films), for French I think. Or maybe Hindi...
I wasn't planning on doing much reading in French until I finish the passive wave of Assimil. I have already lined a short list of easy books to start after the passive wave. Assimil itself involves a lot of reading of course, so what do people think about counting Assimil as a book (assuming I read all the lessons during the challenge time)?

I'm not doing any other challenges but i've got my log: http://how-to-learn-any-
language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=31859&PN=1
I suppose i was just planning on keeping track of the books i read and movies i read when i get stuff done on them
etc. I'm not really sure and would gladly take any ideas on board.

I may try with Japanese, but I think I would do it unofficialy, since I am not good with keeping up with minute info (I post it on my log, only after reading the whole book, rather than the number of pages).
Actually I have o do it with Japanese anyway.
I have a lot of books, and I must listen to 1500 hours of Japanese (I read in a book about his number).
