Wow, jeje, suerte con "La guerra del fin de mundo", no sé si lo pudiera leer, ¿cómo está?
And yes, I can imagine that medical terms are a league of their own - even difficult in your mother tongue if you don't have that kind of background! So good luck with that and your master's!

I don't actually have to learn every medical term in existence, there are a lot of tools we can use for that, but we're learning the main latin constructs and lots of scientific background, as well as how to use online glossaries and dictionaries and such...

Your active Spanish is so much better than mine, you might be able to read books like that, actually. Although I suppose being a French speaker, comprehension come much easier for me...

Lately I've read about twenty pages of "La guerra del fin del mundo". I really, really want to learn conjugations, I put all of them in a little folder on my desktop about two weeks ago, and... They've been sitting there ever since.

One month to go! I didn't nearly do everything I wanted, but this had definitely been a good experience.
Still reading "La guerra del fin del mundo"...
Spanish: 163 hours
Russian: 177 hours
I've been having German urges... (that is, for some reason I feel like knowing German these days... one step away from feeling like learning it!)

I also didn't do everything I wanted, but it seems like you have made a lot of progress anyway! :) Will you keep going next year?
Ah yes, the urges for other languages :) I never thought I would learn German, but after landing in a German-speaking country, I have quite enjoyed the experience. It is a very useful language to know!
Oh by the way - I have a question for you! Is there any French television series you would recommend me? Bonus points if it's available online like the Spanish ones from TVE :) For next year I really hope I can get my French to a more active & useful level while maintaining my Spanish & German..

Yeah, I'm definitely goign to keep going. I don't know yet how much or which languages (just Spanish? Russian from the summer on? German somehow?)and I'll probably not study quite as much as I won't have as much time as at the beginning of this year, but I like learning.
I don't really watch French TV, but there's a recent series that looks interesting -- "Maison close". Problem is, it's a Canal Plus (paying channel) show, so I doubt they're puttin it online. Of course there are always more expensive or less legal ways of getting it. You could go have a look on their site though as they do put some show online, no necessarily series but things like "les guignols de l'info" (political parody) or "Groland" (same, but over the top). From the same channel and in the same spirit, there's "Les Nuls", which I think aired in the 80s or 90s, and who also made a movie, cult for my generation, called "La cité de la peur". That's all humour, and apart from "Maison close", I can't think of anything else than funny shows apart from a very popular one, "Plus belle la vie", which I personally hate but then again I haven't watched that much of it and it might not bother non-natives as much as the main problem lies in the fact that even though it's ariginally in French, most of the actors are so bad they sound dubbed.
Other cult, but older things: "Le Père Noël est une ordure" (film, must see if you want to have french friends) and a cartoon series, "Les Shadoks" (not as universally cult, but I love it and it's easy to understand -- I don't really know what your level is at French).
I don't know if those are the kind of things you're looking for... Let me know and I'll try to think of more.
