Cегодня делала 3 часа испанский языка а 4 часа русский языка.
Today I did 3 hour of Spanish and 4 of Russian. (assuming it needs the genitive here, I don't really know.)

СЕГОДНЯ Я ЗАНИМАЛАСЬ 3 ЧАСА ИСПАНСКИМ ЯЗЫКОМ И 4 ЧАСА РУССКИМ.

Sorry, we don't 'делаем' but 'занимаемся' languages.

Thanks a lot, Dantalian. What's funny is, I just learned the verb "заниматься" today. One more day...

01/10/10

Today will be a quick English summary. I didn't do much but it seemed pretty hard to me. I worked this morning so I wasn't completely fresh mentally when I started learning, so that might be the reason. Anyway, it took me about 3 hours to do one lesson in the Princeton course (lesson 13), plus I did a little bit of a lesson in my grammar book and entered and learned words in Anki. It's getting more difficult to learn new words, I keep mixing them up and I even have trouble remembering my little memory tricks. I'm starting to be able to see how words are constructed though, so for those I'm doing ok (for example, "leader" is "hand driver", literally). I've definitely gotten to the harder part of Russian.
I also listened passively to Slot's third album while I was working
As for Spanish, by the time I'd finished with my Russian, I had only an hour? I listened three times to a news clip, with background noise, and entered like 7 words in Anki. As with Russian, I can't remember words I learned one of two days ago. I think I'm going to slow down a ibt, at least in Russian, ubt I'm not particularly happy about it.
I wanted to do a summary of my progress every sunday, so here it is:

Spanish:

15 hours
341 cards on Anki (a lot of them full sentences including several new words)
6 lingQ lessons (not counting the know words there, because they don't count lemmas, they count every single form of a word, for instance in Spanish for a adjective you have four forms: Guapo, guapa, guapos, guapas. Looks great but not very realistic.

Russian:

30 hours
354 cards on Anki (but that's 3/4 of my vocab)
Lesson 13 at Princeton
Lesson 4 of my second grammar book.

The numbers of hours are estimates, I think I might have done a little more since the very beginning but I wasn't counting then. I'm going to start counting more precisely. I might not keep up this rhythm, though, or at least introduce a lot more passive comprehension, not trying to Anki every single new word or complex sentence. Give myself a little slack. I do however need more time for Russian than for Spanish.

Lunes 11 Enero

You seem to have chosen the wrong time to talk about rolls... I had two pretty busy days yesterday and today (useless meetings, 8 to 5) so I didn't do much. Nothing yesterday, really, except if you count watching Guinness records shows in various languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and... Chinese, language practice (yeah, I know, no annihilation of bad habits there, and I felt pretty useless. Those things aren't just useless, they kill your neurons.). I felt pretty sad because I understand Italian, which I have never studied, better than German, which I learned for 8 years. I'll have to learn Italian one of these days, just to make me feel good about myself. Perhaps while learning Mandarin, it will even the all-round difficulty out a little.
Anyway, today, I only did Anki reviewing (but double, as I didn't yesterday). About 1:30 hours total. I was probably not such a bad thing, I feel like what I knew today, I really know. I'll start working more passively in Spanish, reading books and such. Just have to buy them. Tomorrow is going to be another long day, so my big study days are only going to be at the weekend.
Well, team mates, keep up the good work while I don't!

P.S.: Oh, and I'm not doing so well at work lately so I'll have to work a bit more and therefore study a bit less. ':(
