Does anybody know how much cheaper it is to travel by bus than train in Hungary? I've found buses from Budapest nepliget but can't find the prices. The trains seem very expensive.
Would I need to book or do you think there'll be spaces on the bus?
Thanks in advance!

Here you can buy bus tickets online: http://www.volanbusz.hu/
Budapest-Pécs and back Pécs-Budapest is 7260 HUF (this is 661 CZK on todays exchange rate). Is this expensive?

It is better to buy the ticket previously.

Thanks a lot for the info.
It's a bit cheaper than the train but I was hoping it would be a little more cheaper! It's just that we've got about 110,000 forints as our budget for our 5 day trip so we're trying to cut down travel costs.
It's probably a bit more expensive than it would be here.

Hi !
Tickets costs 320 Ft (vonaljegy) (student / otherwise ===> Maxval sample) and you have to buy a ticket for each journey, i.e. if changing the station, you have to buy a new. I think a pack of 10 tickets exists, but I don't know the prices. I will buy the monthly bkv card as I'm there 3 weeks and will take the bus every day. (around 13 euros for students).
It was so the last time I went to BP, in october, I don't think it changed :). Btw, I like the old tram. I'm a huge fan of trains, metro... even if I'm a girl :)
Metro. But is this one the one which is 50 years old ? I don't remember :/
