If any natives happen to read this, can you tell me if I am pronouncing the French "L" correctly? I made a file with myself saying English "bell" and French "belle," to try and show the contrast: audio

I really want to get *all* the letters right, not just settle for being understood. Thanks to anyone who helps out.

On another note, I find it really cool how once I learn something new about French, it seems to start popping up everywhere in my reading and listening. Even just some little idiom or new vocabulary word. It's as if one more little piece of the "can't comprehend French" filter has been removed from my ears and eyes.

[Edit: also, I forgot to mention that I added links to all my speech recordings in the first post, so they can all be accessed in one place.]

Neither am I a native French speaker, but your accent seems to develop in the right way.

Liking the links and the audio. Your accent is way better than
mine.

I found it interesting that you found lesson 22 of Assimil
hard. I am at 26 in the passive stage and it was definitely the
hardest so far.

I think one reason Lesson 22 was hard is because it introduces a number of new vocabulary words related to gambling, most of which aren't used elsewhere in the course (at least not yet that I have seen), so I found them difficult to remember.

And thanks for the compliment. Maybe you should upload some audio, too! Now that I'm making it a routine, I actually really wish I had done it earlier in the learning process.

Assimil Lesson 73 (Passive): I thought this one was quite simple, though it was hard for me to transcribe correctly because I'm not yet very familar with the endings for the imperfect; I should practice those. The only new words for me were:

un fermier
tiède

Also, it feels kind of silly to say this, but I just recently started thinking about the grammar of "il y a" and its imperfect counterpart "il y avait" (which appeared a few times in the lesson). Before now, I had simply accepted their meaning and usage without thinking about their logical structure. :-P

Assimil Lesson 24 (Active): This one went pretty well, definitely better than 22. I completely forgot "habilité," which seems like something I should add to my Anki deck.

Native Sentence 0004: "Légalement, le recruteur n'a pas à priori à poser cette question." (source)

And my recording. Just one "take" this time. I found it hard to get the "-cru-" in "recruteur" right (my mouth seems to want an "ou" after the "r"). Also, I'm not really sure how to read "(il) n'a pas à priori." The site gives the translation "the interviewer is *not supposed to* ask this question," so I guess I'll just accept that for now.
