What happened to the "countdown" that told us how many books/films we needed to complete
per week/month to finish the challenge? Would it be too much trouble to bring it back?

The issue is that we no longer specify whether we're doing the half or full challenge. Now it's supposed to be per star. (My original suggestion was counting the recommended pace for completing a star in 6 months, or less when the challenge is about to end)

Weeks should start/end at midnight Sunday in the Bot's time (at the bottom of the page). I'd like to make it run
from the first entry in the streak, but it's a bit more complicated so it's only on the to-do list at the moment
;).
And yes, the badge is doing "something" for the language, either reading or watching will count towards it.

As Serpent mentioned, this was based on the old challenge type (Super Double Spectacular whatever ...). Because I
don't know your goal this time around I can't calculate this any more.

My anki file of sentences from _Spanish with Ease_ and _Using Spanish_ shows that there are at least 115 pages of Spanish text in the two books, using the 250 words a page measurement. I say "at least" because I didn't enter every single word into anki.
If anybody is starting Spanish and is completely crushed by native material, Spanish with Ease should be worth a little more than one book, and Using Spanish is a little less than a book.
I still find some of Using Spanish to be challenging, and I may actually read it at some point if I get discouraged with native speaker materials.
So far I'm vaguely following the story with novels translated from English, and I actually think I have improved some after less than 200 pages...
:)

Thanks Serpent and Surrealix. Oh well, it was nice having the counter if only for a few
days, it gave me an idea of the pace need to keep for the next 20 months or so.
