As it's Japanese, it's pronounced "shi", so what's wrong with writing it the way it is pronounced? In case you didn't know, there are 2 ways of romanising the Japanese syllable し (pronounced "shi"). I use the "shi" transliteration and totally forgot that she spelled it "si". Same sibilant!

"Wot's" wrong? For starters, it's a name and one where most forum members trip and then can't search past posts. Like that other one, what was it, turiguz?

Sounds great! I love that you included football matches:)))
Here's what I'm aiming for:
100 matches in Italian, 100 matches in Portuguese (including European), 100 matches in Slavic languages, 100 matches in misc languages
100 poems in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Belarusian, Croatian, Romanian, 100 misc poems
100 short stories in Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Belarusian, Croatian, German
100 cartoons
100 lang-8 posts
I hope this can help me with my super challenge goals:) But I miss my pre-challenge spontaneous choices so it will be nice that my random items count for something too:) For "misc" I'll be trying to include one item in each language I have listed. Are there any cartoons in Latin?;) at least there's poetry for sure...
Given the flexibility of this challenge, watching/reading something more than once doesn't count, right? What about audiobooks/recordings of poems?
Did the challenge start on 00:00 December 1st? I've already watched one match in Italian and will hopefully watch one in Ukrainian soon. and then 2-3 more later...
edit: made a justpaste it note. I won't be making detailed lists of what I do. |

I am glad you like it. The soccer matches were thrown in just for you. I have seen your other list, you're a soccer monster. Give others a chance. Please edit your TAC log and just paste a link to what you're doing on the first page and if you can provide a link somewhere on your blog. Your log should be easy to find.
Given the flexibility of this, you should not be asking many questions :)
You do not have to decide in advance and then make it a chore. If you're neat freak you can make it as detailed as you wish. You can do 100 basketball matches and 100 haiku - in Italian. Choose your own 100 items. 100 new words in each language, 100 food wrappers in Portuguese, 100 fables. You like poems? Read 100 and learn another 100 by heart. Cartoons? Do 100 cartoons, 100 animated features, 100 anime episodes. Tell us what you learned from it and why it may be useful. If you're very busy and don't have much patience for anything *cough cough* do 100 random items. Comment on any useful resource. Obviously a detailed list of passed football matches is as fresh as footballers' socks. I just went through kanewai's log and added some stuff to my Netflix queue. Have fun with it. Given how slow this site can get you might just move the content somewhere else and provide a link.

That's even better!
100x lang-8 changed to writing in general. I've also added e-books, for which I'll basically count any pdfs of 10+ pages. I have some fantastic stuff on my computer that I'd love to read for the super challenge, but after a recent eye infection I'm wary of e-books. I also included music albums...
...and GLOSS lessons. I'll mostly be doing the Serbian and Croatian ones, and also just random lessons. I've already done most of what they offer for Portuguese and Spanish... and pssst I'll be doing some written French as well. I hate its sound, but reading only is okay and I often come across it while working (spam analysis) so a bit of proper learning should be useful.
I think your challenge deserves a separate thread! I bet most people haven't even seen it :/ :D

I started a thread about reineke's challenge.
You know what's very encouraging? That although I'm behind with most of my Super Challenge languages, I know that if this was a year-long thing I'd still sign up. Maybe with a bit fewer languages, but still. Need to catch up with the reading part (only today registered the first Belarusian "book"), but hopefully Tadoku will help:)

Today is January 1st and the bot says there are 363 days left.
Um, depending on how you count it can be 364 or 365, but definitely not 363 yet?

Good catch. It was of course the classic out-by-one programming error, so it's fixed now.
