Forvo is quite good for when you just need the pronunciation of a single word.

Parallel texts and audiobooks simplify life a lot when you need to know the meaning,
intonation and pronunciation of what you're reading. Euronews is a great tool.
Personally, I love practicing languages by reading news/books, because it knocks two daily tasks down with one stone. Rather than spending one hour reading the news in English later, I can rather invest that time into reading news and practicing a target language. :-) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

TTS quality is mostly OK for the major languages, Russian included, according to some little testing by my friends. However, they still have a long way to go, and I don't think they're really worth considering if you keep in mind that there's no shortage of books in text + audio format.

When you listen to Russian and see the text, read by different people, do you have the
impression that everything is pronounced differently? Do you notice that different people pronounce one and the same word differently or the same sounds differently? Do you encounter situations when you here an unexpected pronunciation except for the stress and ё instead of e? If yes, how often does it happen?
