Hi sorry for letting you wait for an answer, but given that we are so full that I had already said twice that we did not have the capacity to accept more members of the group, I felt that I needed to consult a couple of the other members of the group before letting in yet another member.
I am however happy to welcome you as the 20eth and last member of the group, and hope you will have a lot of fun as member of team Sputnik.
Just let me know when you have set up your log, and I will add it at the front of the first post.
Cristina

When are we going to use that beautiful set of dialogues, Tecktight?

We typically recite them at the beginning of each Skype session. I mean, that's what we did last time, so I assume
we will continue to do that.
In my Russian class, the professor had us memorize a dialogue and then recite it in front of the class. This way,
certain useful phrases would just be drilled into us, and our minds could pull them up reflexively in "crisis"
situations...i.e. when you're confronted by a native Russian and need something to say. I would propose we do the
same with these dialogues. For example, we can structure it in the following way:
Week 1 Skype Session:
-Read first set of dialogues
-Homework: Memorize one dialogue--you memorize the entire dialogue, but at the "test" you will read with a
partner
Week 2 Skype Session:
-Test: Each person is partnered up with another person who did the same dialogue, and they recite the dialogue
from memory. Native speaker or fellows will 'grade'
-Read second set of dialogues
-Continue rest of session with casual conversation.
And so on, so forth. |

Oh, yes, but what I really particularly meant was - when is the next session? :)

That sounds like an interesting experiment, Techtight! I'm copying out your dialogues (at
least the two you posted on here) and trying to incorporate them in my studies. One
question. Is there audio that I should use or should I just go through them?
I haven't been able to make it yet to the sessions, so far, something has always been
coming up, and, to tell you the truth, I'm so intimidated because I'm still "getting my
feet wet" in Russian, so to speak. I'm trying to get a feel for the language through
studying and listening to online radio daily in order to feel up to the game when I join
you. Soon!

OK, OK, not with the broomstick! :)
zekecoma's journey with Russian
And so this post is not a total waste of space, are we scheduling a Skype meeting for this weekend, or the next one? And again, where's the audio for the dialogs? I need my fix and I don't look good without it...
