I got your deck, it seemed very good but I've switched to Anki 2 since then. Maybe you have too? I'd love to get the new version of your deck.

I'm not sure if that's what you're saying, but all the Anki 1 decks can be converted to Anki2... you just need to import them in Anki 2, and it will do the job.

I know but since it's not my deck I don't really want to do it. It's not that important.

By the way, how is your Anki-related article-seeking-software coming along? Have you made any progress?

Hmm, it's been running ok and I've done a lot of cleaning up, and then some personal circumstances got me far from those preoccupations.

I still need to clean it a bit more to make the support of new languages work as a plug-in. I was quite concerned about Korean, because it seemed to me that dealing with the morphology would be a major pain, but I've recently found a morphological analyser which seems relatively decent. This means that I should be able to work on integrating Korean soon, and that's actually going to be one of my goals for February. (and sorry for not giving much news about it). :)

Evita, you're welcome to import the deck to Anki 2. I'm not using it yet. If you're not yet comfortable with recording your reading you could just write your introduction and not the textbook recording in addition. But keep in mind that we're usually our own severest critics ;) I'm sure the audio will be fine.

I have a homework for my chinese class and I was wondering if any of you could look at it and tell me if it's ok.

I must replace these 10 sentences by a question, replacing the marked characters. Here's what I did :
1

Also, could you check the following sentences if they are correct. I've placed the prepositions and am wondering
if they are ok. 谢谢您了.

1
他跟他朋友去喝桃汁儿。
2
今天我朋友在学校学习。
3
他在我朋友那儿看书。
4
您跟谁去公司?
5
你太太给谁买汉语词典?
6
你在哪儿去学校?
7
你在海华那儿做什么?
8
谁给你买电影票?
9
我在商店给他买两瓶果汁儿。
10
我在学校跟我朋友一起学习。

Most are these sentences are grammatically correct, but sometimes you cannot just
substitute words to form a question. Maybe the requirements of this homework just quite
simple, but I would like to have some words on what sentences would be like in
conversations.
Homogenik wrote:

我非常喜欢喝可口可乐。
你非常喜欢喝什么?

A more natural conversation will be like this:
你喜欢喝什么? What do you like to drink?
我非常喜欢喝什么喝可口可乐。I like Coca-cola very much.
Not "What do you like to drink very much?"
Homogenik wrote:

他想喝咖啡,不想喝啤酒。
他想喝什么,不想喝什么?

This is totally correct. Another possibility can be:
他想喝啤酒嗎?Does he want to drink beer?
(不),他想喝咖啡,不想喝啤酒。No, he wants to drink coffee, not beer.

今天她去看电影,她先生也去。
今天她先生跟她去不去看电影?

Your question sounds like "Hey, is she and her husband coming to the movies with us?"
Maybe this sentence is better:
她今天做了什麼呢? What did she do today?
今天她去看电影,她先生也去。 She went to the movies today, and so did her husband.
Homogenik wrote:

我们看七点的加拿大电影。
你们看七点的哪国的电影?

This sentence is OK, but a more natural conversation would be:
你们看什麼電影? What movie did you watch?
And that leaves the person answering to respond with information about the movie.
我们看七点的加拿大电影。Oh, we watched the Canadian movie at 7:00.
Homogenik wrote:

我们的老师是中国人。
你们的老师是哪国人?

Perfect. 哪裡人?can also be used.
Homogenik wrote:

她是我们的汉语老师。
谁是你们的汉语老师?

This is a possible real-life conversation.
A: Who is your Chinese teacher? (Maybe in front of a group of teachers.)
B: She (pointing at one of them) is our Chinese teacher.
This situation is also possible"
她是誰? Who is she?
她是我们的汉语老师。She is our Chinese teacher.

And the prepositions...most of them are totally fine.
Homogenik wrote:

你在哪儿去学校?

Well we would say 你在哪儿上學?Where do you go to school?
But if you want to substitute a preposition, it can also be:
你在哪儿的学校? literally: school of where, but it actually means "Which school do you
go to?" or "Which school are you at right now?"
Homogenik wrote:

谁给你买电影票?

This sounds like as if you are accusing someone. I know it's perfectly fine in Mainland
China,
but Taiwanese would say:"谁幫你买电影票?" Who bought the movie tickets for you?

If you have comments or questions, feel free to ask:)

Here is my self introduction in Thai & Japanese, after long procrastination.
I used a dictionary while writing the draft, and asked a Thai friend to correct some
mistakes afterwards. There were some mistakes still, and I forgot to use the polite
particles after the first sentence or so.
Well, here it is:

And the English translation:
Hello, my name is Tim and I'm from Taiwan. I'm 22 years old and I'm a university
student. When I was a child, I went to America with my family and stayed there for
3 years. After that, we returned to Taiwan and I have studied here ever since.
After I graduated from high school, I entered med school to study medicine.
While in my second year in university, I found out that I did not have much interest in
medicine, but instead I was fascinated with languages. After that I have studied
Spanish, Thai and some other languages.
Well, speaking about learning Thai...
I used to take Thai classes, but I now I study on my own.
A friend once asked me why would anyone want to learn Thai. The truth is, I don't
really know, and I told him maybe it's because after a trip to Thailand 3 years ago, I
had always wanted to visit Thailand often. Thailand is really an exciting country, and
the culture it offers is also quite interesting, so I would like to know the country
better, and to also learn Thai to a satisfactory level.

Japanese Version English translation
Hello everyone. My name is 曾(last name). Since I'm Taiwanese, I can speak Chinese and
Taiwanese. I'm a student majoring in medicine. Many Taiwanese like Japanese culture,
probably due to the close proximity between the two countries, and I have great
interest in Japanese culture, so at times, I watch Japanese drama, listen to Japanese
music. For this reason, I am now studying Japanese. I love studying languages, but I
don't have much time, and shamefully(Yes, the Japanese are humble) I am not skilled
enough.

Great introduction, iawia! Now that I know you're studying medicine I'm even more awed at your language accomplishments and study schedule :) The med students usually have so much studying to do for uni that few would take up even a single language at the same time.
