I am a big fan of Agatha Christie. Big fan. When I venture into a new language or want to see how much I can
understand of a language I have not studied, I try to read Agatha Christie. I have read it in 11 languages so
far: Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Dutch and
Russian. She is however not the easiest in term of vocabulary, because she likes to vary. When I read my
first A.C in Russian, it was driving me mad, that whenever I expected the word he said/she said after a
sentence in direct speech, that was never the word I found. It would be he exclaimed, sighed, asked or
agreed. It is part of what makes me like A.G so much, but as a beginner it was a royal pain in the back.
Because it bugged me so much, I started focusing on them, figuring that she would logically only use a few
expressions, and learning those few would make my life easier. She did't.
Here is a small selection of words which were used in stead of " said". I hope it will benefit someone else.
Oh, and one question. The words beginning with na were split into two words on my iPad. I overruled it, but
please let me know if they should be written in two words. Any corrections are as always welcome, preferably
gentle ones followed by a verbal pat on the head telling me how well I have done. :-)

I'll wait for corrections for these (if there are any) but this is so useful! I'm
considering making one for my stronger TL so I can read some novels.

Что такое "соврщна"? "Хныкнула",наверное, раз все в совершенном виде. Но пост очень
полезный, так как его можно использовать и наоборот.

That's a great list! Others will surely find it helpful when reading any sort of narrative. I just have two small corrections:

I think Вэдохнула should be Вздохнула, то есть не Э, а З.

You add jornvanschaik to your contacts (aka me) and I invite everyone when the time is
there.
That said, REMINDER REMINDER; THE MEETING IS AT 3 PM AMSTERDAM TIME.

Which means in about 15 minutes! Do not be afraid to join if you are a beginner. I promise to sit there and be
scared to death to say anything in Russian in front of the group with you :-)
