This is actually the first smartphone I've owned. I've had mostly normal cell phones in the past partly because I didn't really use the "extra" features that most cell phones had. However, the reason I have a smartphone now is primarily for work (i.e. steady access to email).
That said, 99% of my usage of this Droid X so far has not really been as a phone...hehe. It's seen much heavier use as a Gtalk client (we use Gtalk for work communications), email client, calendar, and Anki review device instead. In fact, I'm very tempted by the idea of the new Android-based tablets that are coming out soon (like the Samsung Galaxy). I could see seriously utilizing one of those (especially given my job in IT).

I've also been doing something recently to help combat my music addiction (where I'll just listen to Korean/Japanese and surf the Internet in English.) Well, this mainly applies to the SRS. I have to do a decent number of SRS reviews before I can listen to the song again. It helps me get done with the SRS, especially at night. |

I occasionally find myself doing something similar with some of the websites I check daily. "Do at least one session with the SRS then you can check that website." Most of my music listening happens in the car, instead, where I can't really use Anki anyway.

I do a lot of music listening in the car, as it takes me 40 minutes to go to school and 40 back. Also, (going to two colleges this semester), the drive between the two is about 15 minutes. Then, walking to class, that's 15 minutes, but during that time, I listen to the mp3s of all the actors I made clips out of.

Today, I studied 40 kanji, was thinking of doing more, then remembered all the times I got burned out and stayed at 40 and will be reviewing those throughout the day. For Japanese, I'm learning 5 more sentences today (35), which is roughly 5-10 more words (and/or learning kanji readings for words I only knew in hiragana.) For Korean, so far, I've only added two cards, but I'm working on my paper all day and all tomorrow. Got IY downloaded, saving that for tonight as a motivator to get a lot done. I keep checking every 1-2 hours for SPEC episode 1. I'm guessing that j-drama raws don't get released as quickly as K drama raws do.

Last night I started two new J dramas, Gaiji Keisatsu and Tsuki no Koibito. Yeah, Japanese dramas aren't released that quickly, and I'm quite disappointed that SPEC wasn't out and isn't out yet (last I checked.) Also watched IY last night. Good episode.
Today, reviewed 500 cards or so. Watched an episode of Kim Tak Goo and Trick. I'm about to start my paper, so I have a playlist of the actors I'm listening to on repeat (20 mins total.) Also, to alleviate the boredom, going to be taking many breaks adding new cards to the SRS and reviewing the new Japanese words and kanji I learned (or in today's case, will learn.)
Yeah, boredom with fun in between.

Edit: SPEC ep 1 finally came out. f**k you paper, I have something to watch.

Finally, catching a break, but preparing for the next wave of papers and tests to do. For my pre-decks, I need to space out the reviews instead of clicking "hard" all the time because I'm ending up with 500 reviews a day. I had to suspend my whole pre-Japanese deck because 150 reviews in Japanese is too much for me. So, now, I only have 100 cards that aren't suspended, and probably by next weekend they should all be unsuspended.
Watching dramas in 10-15 segments now because unless it's the weekend, I'm lucky to watch a full episode.
Also decided to give up on We Got Married. No matter how hot Victoria is, I get tired of that show.

I'll be posting my SRS stats tomorrow. I had over 900 reviews due today, and I got 200 done this morning. It's a good thing I suspended a lot of cards too, or else I'd be SRSing all day.
And I'm going back to SRS for classes, as my test scores were worse when I just crammed for tests. >.>
I'm hoping tonight or tomorrow morning I can get on MSN Messenger and/or Shared Talk and talk with natives. Been busy with school and it's staying busy. (Mainly because of English.)
Also, I'm in the middle of sentence mining and came across this word: 똥차. First guess, I got it right: piece of shit car. After a while, it gets easy to guess what Korean words mean, and I haven't even learned the readings for hanja (only in Japanese.)

For some reason, I didn't get much done yesterday. I did nearly 600 SRS reviews and still had 500 cards left, so I didn't do them lol. Right now, I have 750 reviews to do. Might take me a few days to catch up, since I'm still adding new cards. (In my cramming decks, I got to start pushing "good.") The card count is gonna skyrocket because I need to add cards for my classes. I didn't learn any new vocab or kanji yesterday either. Watched Invincible Youth and Tsuki no Koibito. Also watched (most of) a Japanese movie called Go, which I'll finish later today. I watched that paying attention to subs because I really wanted to know what was going on instead of just the gist.

I gotta endure about three more weeks of business, and then things can go back to normal (like being able to watch more TV shows lol.) Not much, really. Only thing I'm doing differently these days is visiting t-arafan.com, a Korean T-ara fansite. I was going to register, but I don't have the Korean equivalent of a Social Security number. Only way I got my Cyworld was that a friend made it for me. But yeah, I only know of T-arafan and Sosiz (SNSD fansite,) I'm hoping I can find Kara's and that would take care of three of my top 4 favorite girl groups.

I really dislike that aspect of South Korean websites. It makes it virtually impossible for anyone that isn't a citizen of S.K. to create an account on Korean websites. There has to be *some* option that S.K. can come up with for validating overseas accounts. :-/
