Yeah, and several other groups/performers have already been in Japan and/or released Japanese albums as well: Big Bang, BoA, Brown Eyed Girls, CN Blue (which actually debuted in Japan well before they did so in Korea), and FT Island...that's all I can recall of the top of my head (in addition to the ones that were already mentioned). At least I'll have plenty of material available to ease me into Japanese music since I already know several of the artists and melodies...lol

I thought T-ara was officially "focusing on Korea" for now...did they change plans suddenly?

I think they were already planning on Japan, but with so many activities in Korea (2nd album promotions, Eunjung, Jiyeon, and Soyeon's acting gigs, etc.) they'll have to wait until 2011 anyway.

(I don't want to give you too many ideas for music in Japanese, but I'll list some of my favorites.)

Hiphop- RIP Slyme, m-flo, Teriyaki Boyz, Home Made Kazoku, Seamo
Rock - FLOW, Asian Kung Fu Generation, Miyavi, Bump of Chicken, UVERworld, the brilliant green, (etc.,a lot of good Jrock bands)
Pop - Amuro Namie, ICONIQ (former Sugar member. Korean girl group in the early 2000s), Yui
Girl groups - AKB48, Perfume

Girl groups take a while to get used to in Japan, if you've ever listened to them. They're not trained as long as Korean idols, and it does show. The songs are the anime-ish side too, if you've ever listened to anime music.

I used to listen to a looooot of Japanese music before I started listening to Kpop. In Kpop, there are better things (hiphop, girl group music) and in Japan, better solo artists and they have rock bands. (Korea has rock bands, but most are underground. Not counting the idol rock bands.)

Ahhh. Speaking of 티아라, I watched the first episode of Dream Girls tonight (unsubbed) and it was much better than I expected. I found the foreign language bits particularly interesting.

My favorite part of the show:
Interviewer (in English): "How old are you?"
지연 (in English): "Thirteen."
Me: {LMAO}

Quote:
Amuro Namie

I've heard of her from interviewers noting that 구하라 resembles her. I knew she was Japanese, but wasn't sure what she actually did.

Amuro Namie is one of the queens of Jpop, depending on who you ask. (Hamasaki Ayumi, Utada Hikaru, Koda Kumi, Amuro Namie, BoA (at her prime).)

m-flo feat Amuro Namie

Yeah, I loved the first episode of Dream Girls. My favorite part was Soyeon: "Shopping? I like shopping!"

EDIT: I just read an article on allkpop stating that T-ara is going to have its own season of Hello Baby! Yes!

I watched the subbed version of T-ara Dream Girls, and as I suspected, they left some parts out. Aside from that, I watched Jungle Fish 2 episode 1, Invincible Youth 52 (rumor is that the show is ending soon), and finished episode 3 of The Painter of the Wind. In Japanese, I watched Tsuki no Koibito episode 5 and Nihongo no Shiranai Nihonjin episode 1. I did 700 SRS reviews today and have 700 left (that means I must have been wrong on about 200 lol. Some of the cards were due nearly 2 weeks ago.)

What's Jungle Fish about? I downloaded S2E1 when I saw 지연 was in it, but I hadn't even heard of the show before.

Where did you get the subbed version of Dream Girls? A T-ara fan site?

Search diademsubs2 on YouTube. DiademSubs is TiaraDiadem's subbing team. There are a few times when there are 1 minute segments of the show not being subbed, but it's usually stemming from not subbing the narrator or the three people at the interview (the two guys and one girl.)

Jungle Fish, at least through episode 1, is about a bunch of different stories in regards to middle school life. Stuff like suicide, discipline, etc. Oh, I read the synopsis and it's about a suicide story.

I really wanted to move and start learning new stuff again, so every card that I couldn't answer within 5 or so seconds was suspended. I also merged the Pre-.. decks with the originals. I have a lot of suspended cards. Anyway, stats time.

Deck||Cards||Suspended||Percentage
Korean||2265||44||1.94%
RTK||1790||467||26.09%
Japanese||969||281||29%

This is what happens when your English teacher gives you two weeks to write an 8 page paper, you picking a topic that requires a lot of books, your school's library taking a week to get all your books in, reading 4 books, writing 8 pages. I tried doing a few hundred a day, but then the next day, there were still just as many cards to be reviewed. And I chose dramas and variety shows over studying during that time. Anyway, the plan going forward is to add more cards and relearn the suspended ones. I won't have anything to really slow down my progress for the rest of the semester. I have a 5 page paper to do, but over a month, that's manageable.

My goals for each deck now by the start of the spring semester (middle of January)
Korean: 4000 cards
Japanese: 3000 cards
RTK:2141 (the Jouyou list for kanji)

--

I forgot to mention, I talked to a Korean friend on MSN last night for the first time in a while. My Korean is rusty.

I started new dramas today. King Geunchogo in Korean and Q10 in Japanese. Some butthole said that T-ara Dream Girls ep 2 was supposed to be aired on Saturday, but it never aired. I never found Keizoku 2: SPEC episode 5 today, so I was disappointed.
